Kind of stopped

May 9, 2007 11:38am CST
I kind of stopped practicing wicca because of some nasty things that had happened to me in the past ((false accusations were pointed to me and people shunned me out)) and i was wondering if it is accepted to restart from where i left off

Of course you can begin again...no reason why not. Why did people shun you? Were you talking about it outside the circle? Did you threaten someone? There must be a reason why... Why don't you talk about that, after all, this forum is fairly anonymous. There are lots of us here who would be happy to give you some pointers. :)

I am part of the website gaiaonline.com and i was in a guild for wiccans, i loved it so much there but my avatar had black clothing for a avatar contests, it had no bad meaning to it and people were blaming me of dark magic, and i swear on everything i have that i will never nor have i ever done dark magic!

Good grief, They'd have a bird if the got a look at my closet, every stitch of clothing that this guy owns is black! :) Buy my Witch/Pagan self is Positive and Loving down to the core... if that particular group didn't understand that about you, perhaps it's their problem and not yours, so Merry Part, to them I say!

Awww, that's a shame. I see more Gothic wiccans being shunned for their choice of clothes ---it's against the belief system to shun people just for outward appearances...I'm sorry that you suffered so. But black isn't the only shade under the rainbow. I don't go for black anymore. Though at one time I thought it a power color, I now know it really robbed me of my true colors. Now I dress brightly, and it has affected my mood as well as my outlook! Don't sweat it. Hmm...I have read on Gaia's board...I wonder if I even had an account? I can't remember. I should look around for it. I used to enjoy the conversations on Herbalism.

There's much to be admired about the Life Of a Solitary, I am so grateful for my freedom and the Wisdom that comes from acting as one sees fit, I love All of the Children of the Craft, and see them as my Brothers and Sisters... But as I grow older, I really appreciate The Solitaire that I am, oddly, even though it is well known that I am Witch/Pagan, most people either don't mind or don't understand but they don't bother or hassle me, it must be the High Fashion black clothing, I can honestly say that I've been mistaken for clergy! LOL!:)

I dont see why not.....I've strayed from my path on occassion due to life happenings etc but its not like during that time I "forgot" any thing or stopped believing anything when it came to my spirituality ya know...If you are feeling a little unsure though, why not give yourself a week or so to refresh up to where you were when you left....Make sense? bottomline, only YOU can decided whats best for you...there is no law and nothing is set in stone when it comes to HOW one is spiritual or religious ya know...
