Obessive Compulsive Disorder,I'm not sure how to spell it. But I wonder if what I do could be it or just coockie stuff I do. My mom was a worrier and so am I,she used to have me double and triple check to make sure the doors where locked at night and that the fans were turned off before we left, now I find myself worring about everything and always checking stuff alot before I can relax. I make my husband check the locks and my child 2-3 times before he or I can sleep. Does anyone worry alot about everything? Or do you check things over and over again to make sure they are off, locked,or anythng like that.

I think you're just fine! You are being a careful mom. I am the same way too, especially since my three year old learned how to undo the front door knob lock. Now, I am sure to double check the chain lock on the door. If she could figure out how to undo that, I am sure she would be able to get out of the house and run into the yard. I would prefer that she not be outside alone, since we do not have our fence up yet. As far as the Obsessive Compulsive disorders, I think those have more to do with chemical imbalances in the body that are brought on by extreme stress. Often, the body uses these mechanisms to allow it to cope with undue burdens. When I was a child, I had many compulsions due to the extremely stressful nature of our household. It was just my way of coping with situations that I could not understand. But, I grew out of it. If you find that your worry about your family's safety starts to interfere with your ability to run your household or work away from the house, then you might speak to your doctor about treatment options. Also, don't be afraid to get a security alarm system or dog for your yard. That may provide additional peace of mind for you.

Thank you,my daughter ahs learned to do that as well. I guess I just get worried sometimes because I worry too much, lol. Does that make sense? Any who. I am glad to hear you grew out of your issue. i do hope mine will start to calm down now that my stress level has slowed down a bit.

Yes! I am sure everything will be fine. You are a really smart mom to worry so much about your child and family's safety. Trust me! I have seen women who are exactly the opposite as you. They are much too relaxxed about the things going on in their homes or where people are at all hours of the day. But, I can definitely relate to the stress level issue. My three year old daughter is constantly running through the house and I have to remind her on an hourly basis to be careful. But, inevitably she will fall down and bump her knee. Of course, I feel bad for her. But, I guess that is just part of the learning process for little children. Personally, I think her little boo-boo accidents are harder on me than on her! She just jumps right back up and starts running around some more. I'm a chronic worrier too!

My guy always tells me I should see a doctor because he thinks I have O.C.D. Its weird because certain thi9ngs have to be MY way or it will bother me. In my bathroom we have the towel rack and the bottoms have to be even if there uneven I will constantly fix them so there even, i will know the door is locked but I still will check it just to set my mind at ease..there is soo much more but I dont want anyone to think Im crazy LOL

I don't think you are crazy I do the same thing with the locks here at home I know they are locked but I still find myself rechecking them. It doesn't make you crazy just kind of quirky as my hubby calls it lol. If you do choose to talk to a doctor let me know what they say I might have to go to one as well.
