black and white photography

sunset in la union - it was taken some time during a sunset in la union, philippines. that was my little sister looking at the horizon. i love the view and the dramatic effect.

i love photography...although im not really "professional" in it. black and white attracts me a lot. they seem to have so much mystery within aside from the fact that they look so classic. here's a sample of my favorite b&w pics. your opinion will be greatly appreciated.

Totally agree! I would just if I could change anything, straighten up the horizon and get rid of the time stamp. Other than that its gold! You have a great eye.

hi karalee. thanks for the compliment. im really flattered. actually, it's really an un-edited photo. i didn't use adobe or any photo-editing software. it's all-natural. i guess the camera lens-against-the-sun gave that black and white effect. cool huh? again, thanks a lot!

You are right! B&W pictures are very in demand although there are lots of colourful pictures to choose from. It's just there is a sense of mystery in every B&W picture that attracts us.

hi. i dunnoh but there's really a mystery that black and white photos possess. they just leave us awe-struck and mesmerized. maybe that's why we are attracted to it.

Awesome pictures, I have not experimented much with black and white photography yet.. I been practicing on my cats, dogs, and local plants and just objects I like ... and putting them here for now ... DNatureofDTrain's picture Gallery http://www.shareapic.net/content.php?gid=68567 I am still learning but they are not the best, have some drawings too. I guess I could convert some to black and white and see how they look.. I use a mini innovage digital camera, or some disposable cameras for this.... also alot of my drawings and doodles on bitmap image is in there. Your photography is awesome, clear and professional looking. Most of mine are not to clear, I like to be in motion! lol. - DNatureofDTrain

Black and white photography is a different experience as compared to colour photography. In case of the former, one can easily have a dark room of his own to do the processing and there is a great deal of variation and experimentation that are possible and any serious photographer would be tempted to indulge in. It could be construed as a creative hobby. Colour photography, on the other hand, limits your participation as the processing is much more complex in this and generally it is carried out by an automated machine. Therefore your participation in this type of photography is up to taking a snap only. I saw the picture. It is good. I wish you lot of creative photography.
