Do you pick up pennies off the ground when you see them

Many times I see pennies on the ground and I pass them by and then I think ..how many of them I pass by and how much this would add up for the tax on things I buy..Now I stop and pick them up..What about you? Do you collect old pennies?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I was always told that if it was heads down that it was bad luck and that you shouldn't pick it up. So even though I'm not really superstitious, I still find myself avoiding the ones that are heads down lol.

Really..what kind of bad luck will it bring you if you pick up a "heads down" penny? I know I have heard it is too but never ventured to ask what the bad luck will happen to be;)+

As my grandmother always said, find a penny pass it on brings good luck to both of you. Plus i also have a collection in an old tin which has about £8 in it i am hoping by the end of it i will have £50.

Most of the time now I pass them on by as it is too hard for me to bend down and pick them up. But I know how they can come in handy with the Tax, as that is usually about the only way I can seem to get rid of mine anymore unless I choose to roll them up.

I always pick them up because I always have a thought that reminds me "a penny lost is a penny gained" If people have the knack to lose these pennies all the time then we should benefit from picking them up and putting them in a jar!!

I usually stop and pick up money in the street, after all the pennies add up after a while. I usually put them into my change bottle and once in a while I cash it up, it's surprising how quickly those pennies grow :-)

I do pick up the pennies from the floor. I have a jar that is almost full of pennies. It adds up and I will take it to the bank to change it for dollars when the jar gets full. I don't collect old pennies.

Well ..I wonder how much one jar holds..Have you ever counted ..do you know automatically how much your pennies will render you with you go to bank and spill them into the hopper to be counted;)|+

I really don't know how much it will total to. All I know is money I didn't have, probably 6-7 dollars, I don't know.

I usually do it, unless the little coin is amid rubbish. It was a long time I didn't find any, but the day before yesterday I found one of the least value available here.

The only pennies that I pick up off the ground are the ones laying around in my home. I do not pick them up off the street. If I see quarters or dimes I will pick those up since they have more value but not pennies. I do not think pennies are worth picking up. I have never been a fan of pennies as I think they should ban pennies.

Yes, i allways take them. We call them here: lucky pennies. Usually the amount is too small to buy something, but we believe that theese lucky pennies attract the big money:-)

Everynow and then I will pick a penny up, I already have so many pennies when I go to the store I will tell them to keep them because some one might be short of a few cents. I seen a penny on the ground yesterday, I just left it there.

I pick up all money that I see on the ground. Yes, even pennies. Every little penny counts to us. hehe We don't collect them, but just put them in our penny thing to add up to 50 cent roll.

You betcha I bend over and pick it up! Pennies add up to dollars. Now, many feel that they can only pick the penny up if it is laying with the heads side up, as to pick up a penny that is laying with the tails side up is considered bad luck! I am not that way, I pick them up! We have a large jar on our bar into which we place pennies. When we are ready for a family trip,we empty the jar to see how much is there and we use it for our first breakfast stop! Last time we emptied our penny jar, there was eleven dollars. Yeah, it was a very light meal! Ha!
