If you happen to be an immigrant in a English speaking country and not an English native speaker, how did you start your communication with people around you who all spoke in English? When you first immigrated to that country, did you meet lots of culture shocks in your life? Did they cause you a lot of trouble or inconvenience?

Hello, easyzheng,I can tell you the situation in australia. There are alot of immigrants from different countries in australia, english is the second language for most of them. They may have some problems in communicating with other at the beginning, but when times go by,they can get use to the language barrier and culture shock.

Hi easy888. I think you're right to certain extend. My sister is now in australia. she has been there for nine years and is enjoying life there but I don't see her get much progress with her enlgish because she forever just gets along with Chinese people there.

I think she should have some improvement at least, but if one want to speak like a native, it is very hard to do so.
