Is it practical for a 50-year-old woman to immigrate to another country?

Is it practical for a 50-year-old person to move from his motherland to live in a totally strange country where he would not know anybody else except for his kid and all the customs and culture are completely new to him but the surroundings are beautiful, the air is clear and the welfare is good?

Why not? Your main concern is your kid and you are with him/her. The other things are in your hands. Learn the new language, try to mingle with people and make friendships, try to understand their way of life, main thing is be Roman in Rome and get along with them. You can have your own identity still be one amongst them.
