Travel more places without details or less places with some knowledge?

Every year I travelled with my family around the country. Each time we tried to go around as many places as possible. Yet, after years of travelling, I found I could remember very few of the places I've visited. Do you think it's better to go to one place each time and study the details of that place including the culture, the history and other sceneries it owns?

It is better to choose one or two destinations rather than go on visit all the places that come on the way to main destination. Firstly, the travel takes a lot of time. By the time one lands at destination, tension mounts regarding visit to next place. You have hardly relaxed, you have to pack up for next destination. It is better to choose one or two destination and ensure you see many places and relax well, so that the sweet memories will remain always.
