Retail Theft

I read the online paper everyday from my hometown (I moved away from there over 5 years ago but I like to see what is still happening). There have been many times that I have seen in the police news so-n-so arrested for retail theft at Wal-mart or Kohls. Over and over again they print this for all to see. So why in the world do people still steal from these stores when they know they will be caught? Why do you think people steal knowing they will be caught eventually?

Because they don't think they'll be caught! At least that's my thinking. They probably figure that they are "smarter" than the others and will get away with it. My hubby worked part time at walmart before and they had lousy security, so maybe some walmarts are easier to steal from than others? I dont know. I dont know how they even have the guts to do it. I would be petrified! I have even heard of people stealing video games from the packaging but not take the whole case. How do they do that? Those things are shrink wrapped and locked up. I think it's an addiction once they get started and do it often, they can't help themselves.

I couldn't do it either... I felt bad when I walked out of the store on accident with something I didn't pay for. It was under the carseat in the front of the cart and I didn't see it. I took it back in and paid for it right away. The Wal-mart where I read about has a police station inside of it, they did that about a year before I left because of all the thefts. So in my personal opinion this people are stupid to even try.
