gas prices????? They went sky high before the holiday and now they are droping them again....bet they will sky rocket again by the 4th of July. They had it up to 2.97 before the weekend and now they dropped it to 2.85. I am from NJ and on the news they said NJ has the lowest prices in the nation...Where are you from and how much is gas by you????

Simple supply and demand. Demand goes up over the holidays, but supplies didn't... price goes up. Demand goes down after the holiday, supply stays the same... price comes down.

I live close to Louisville Kentucky. The gas prices were $3.29 a gallon. They are now $3.19 today. So they came down a little. But still at this rate they are outrageous. I want to see them back down to $2.98 like they were before. We have a nice boat and we didn't even take it out once time last year. This weekend we went out one day and spent $60 for one day on the boat. I doubt we take it out much this year either with these kinds of gas prices, but we just couldn't see it sitting another year.

It is a shame we have a boat and a pool and we can't afford gas for the boat, and we can't afford chemicals for the pool. I know people think, "gas is only .10 or .20 cents more per gallon, but when you drive 100 miles a day just to and from work that can add up to like $20-30 more a week) It is crazy.

I bought gas well before the weekend. Now it is down to 3.34 a gallon according to my watch I check on. If it goes much lower we should fill some gas cans in preperation for that weekend. I belong to Care2 and they had a petition started and of course I signed. Some say it fake however through Care2 we do many things through the petitions. We must do what we can to impress on the gas producers that we will not tolerate high prices while they are living in mansions and getting extra large retirement packages.

Oh man- It’s $3.17 here in upstate NY- That’s it I’m coming to NJ for gas- lol oh wait—that would defeat the purpose- I didn’t see any of that over the weekend- I figured gas prices would jump again but they stayed steady at $3.17- I wish they’d go down now this week- I’m hoping- I have to fill up again tonight- I refuse to put over $30 at a time in the tank- I know it’s silly- so I’m pumping more than once a week ! : (

I am sorry Shambuca but I always laugh when I hear you guys in America complain about the price of petrol! Here in the uk they will not print the price per gallon but only per litre, and when you do the conversions and depending on the currency exchange rate I believe we pay around $9 to $10 dollars per gallon! I know it is all relevant, and that you guys have had to endure massive price hikes relatively quickly but when you consider how much it costs us I am sure that you can understand why we are not that sympathetic! xxx

Agreed Mummymo, what we Americans call "gouging", most the gas burning world calls "WOW, that low?". The thing is your petrol prices aren't so high because of price gouging by the companies, but tax gouging by your governments. Sure, oil company prices have never been higher, but as much as they are making, governments are the true robber barrons in the oil market.

lol yes for real sweety! You don't have to apologise sweets - it is a huge price hike from what you used to pay and I really do appreciate that, I just giggle a bit when I read these posts and think "if only they knew", that doesn't make it any easier for you guys though! xxx

Wow. Alot of you have cheap gas. Here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan it is $3.59. I don't know why the government doesn't step up and start charging these big oil companys for gouging. Oh ya thats right! its the people that run the government that have all the oil stocks and I am sure they are grinning from ear to ear, while the rest of us wonder how we are going to get gas to go to work.
