Do you always check your house before leaving?

Do you always make sure that all lights are off, plugs/cords are removed, appliances like t.v. radio/component, aircon/fan, iron, and stove are off? Do you double check all the doors and windows? I always check our house before leaving, especially if we're going on a vacation. But there are also times that i forget to check everyhing before i go, especially when i'm in a hurry or if someone is waiting for me.

I think you should better do that now so you could minimize any accidents. You could also save electricity if you check your appliances before leaving.

I really do try and check everything before we leave the house. If no one would be left to look after it, I really have this tendency to check and even leave something on a door that might a possible entry point for those who have bad intentions while we are away. With the lights, I guess I would just turn off the main switch so that even those that are left unplugged wouldn't really consume anything while they are on standby. Actually, even if they are not on or on standby, as long as they are plugged in, they still consume electricity. Of course, I'd ask if the refrigerator can be left turned off while we are away but, if its not possible, I guess I'd just have to unplug everything except the refrigerator.

You bet I do. I work for the Fire Department, so I always hear about news on how people have lost lives and properties because of fire. So at home i get paranoid if I leave the house with a cords still attached on the sockets. I cannot be calm when there's a burning candle during brown outs. I feel like I have to guard it every minute lest it might cause fire..

Sometimes, but if I'm in a rush I don't. Especially if I haven't plugged anything in.
