I will never deny persons request who is hungry. Preferably I will buy food myself and offer them. If food is out of reach, I give them enough money to have decent food.

yes, i will do exactly as you do it. we know how it feels to be hungry. it will be good to help somebody cope with his hunger once in a while. the little that we can do for someone will get him through until the next mealtime. besides, no one among us knows why this person is miserable for the moment. it could be that there is something which has happened which has caused him to be in such a situation. it is good for us to offer some help if we can, and to decline if we can't. there are times when we are out on the streets with no food nor money.

being generous to other person who are needy is one of the good traits that we have to practice.. just give what help you can and don't expect something in return, that is the essence of giving.. and i do agree with you, let's just be thankful because we are not the one who is asking for help or for something from others.. that's a very good attitude of yours.. happy posting!

I will access the beggar first if he is really incapable of not working. But if he is then I will just ignore him.

Beggars should be totally ignored if they are not physically helpless. Old beggars who ca not work and earn should should be pitied upon, else neglected. They must be encouraged to work for themselves and earn. For the old beggars, i will give whatever i have. More often i will carry money instead of food. So i will give the money.

i will give the guy some food. if i do not have any food with me and i cannot have anyone run on errand for something to eat, i will just give him a small amount which can have him his meal. i will tell him where he can buy food cheapest from the various eateries around. i have done this to some people before. i am talking out of experience. i have even given some money to those who will tell me that they run out of fare money. i will ask the person how much will he need and then give him the amount as he had said it to be. i do this because, this has happened to me twice. i became a victim of pickpockets then. the little that we give to help is a big amount for those who are really in need.

I live in a city with a large homeless population. My home happens to be very close to where they often end up sleeping for the night- the railroad station that is closed after dark but has a grate that gives off some heat. They are often moved by the police, but there aren't enough shelters to house them so they end up back there again. When I see that they are there, especially on the weekends (the soup kitchen is closed on the weekends) I make a dozen or so peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and bring them over there. It costs me less then $3 to feed 3-12 people depending on how many are there that day, and it makes me feel good to know I did something right for someone. I seldom give them money when they're panhandling, many are addicts and I don't want to contribute to their use.

no, my parents instructed me to not give anything to beggar. But then sometimes i gave to old person a money. But i will not gave anything to children because some of the street children used the money to buy rugby, or other inhaling chemicals that is bad for them. I wish their parent would not let them in the road and do that kind of bad stuff.

I would give a beggar some food but not all, there are some beggars who have able bodies and I believe that those are just lazy to make a living. If they were children I would buy them food even hamburgers infact, better you give them that rather than money because here in the Philippines they have a syndicate that harvest beggars daily of their earnings and give them food at night. You will be just supporting people who take advantage of others. If the Beggar was an old person I would give them food also and any assistance that I can, its just so aggravating that their families wont take care of them now that they are old.
