Tiny's Dilema

June 14, 2007 3:30pm CST
"Now, how do I get into that room?" the cat asks herself as she crouches before the door. "I know my owners always use that thing that is half way up the door but I just don't know how to do it." She soon makes up her mind and stands on her hind legs and puts her front paws on the door but only reaches about half way to the knob. "They are on their hind legs but can still reach that thing with no problem." She looks down at her hind legs, "Oh, that must be the problem," she thinks as she moves her back legs closer to the door. She almost reaches the knot, but not quite. "Oh dear, I'm still not tall enough. I thought for sure I could reach it this way." She sits back down to study the situation for awhile. One of her owners moves her aside and goes into the room and immediately closes the door so she cannot follow. "Now I know what they do". She stands on her hind legs very close to the door and reaches up as far as she can with her right paw, just as she saw her owners do and touches the knob. "My paw isn't as big as theirs so I think maybe if I use both paws on either side of the knob I'll be able to open that door by myself." She gives a little jump and gets both front paws on the knob. As she tries to turn the knob she realizes that with her back feet off the floor she is unable to get the leverage to move the door much less open the door. Note from one of the owners: Tiny looks ridiculous hanging from the door knob and looking around wondering why we are laughing. "Yes Tiny, we're laughing at you because you are too small to open that door by yourself. Why do you think we named you Tiny?"

That was a very cute little story. Our Fuzzy is the same way. Except he is always trying to go outside.

Cats are so curious, that's why we think they're funny

Awww – that is very cute. Like most cats, Tiny sounds like she is very determined with a definite mind of her own. She might be small in body, but her heart is big, and in her mind she is a lion capable of great feats. Big hugs to her from me and all my cat family!
