Choices in life, family over career...

What is more important you you, your family or you career, If your the head of a family you can think twice to answer this question. Or let us put this way, if your given a chance to work abroad earning double or tiple of what you earned in your country, but you have to leave then for a longest time. You have to choice, to be with you family or children, watching them grow, guiding them to be a good son or daughter, have the best and quality time with them, but of course with unlimited expenses or not stable finances with worry of not esnding them with the best school you like... but if you could work abroad with good earnings and stable career, you could save a lot of money for their future.. We have to pick one, for present or future, to be with your family but can't give comfortable life and nice education or you away for sometime to have a good life in the future, its your choice???

First of all, I no longer believe that by ONLY going abroad one could earn a lot. One is capable of earning that here in the Philippines if one knows where to look and is willing to work hard, have a strong heart and a mountain of optimism. I let 2 opportunities pass by me to go abroad and one job offer that I finally decided to turn down in Dubai because I could never leave my family. So family is always first for me. Career in nothing without my family. As to earning as much as what i will be earning abroad, I am almost there and not far off the mark actually. As I said, its a matter of looking for other ways. I have to make my pasture here just greener and there are a lot of ways of doing that.

Thanks for your response, but I don't believe we could earn here easily what we earned abroad, sometimes we have to make a sacrifice for the better, or let say for the future of our children. We have to pick one, for present to be with our family, but don't have a bright future, second go abroad to earn a decent income for the future, its your pick.... thanks again for sharing

I don't really agree with you that one has to go abroad just to earn what one can earn there. I know a lot of people who are really earning MORE than those who are now in abroad. I am not just saying this for the sake of argument but that is just the simple truth. One just have to know where to look and put up the same effort as if one is in abroad. As they say we filipinos work harder abroad but why can't we do that here? One just have to have the DRIVE and the tenacity to look for those 'jobs' or things that make one earn much more. I have friends, REAL people who could really attest to what I am saying.

That is a hard choice to make. If your kids are small I would think staying with family is best. Money can wait. Maybe you could find a place closer to your family that will pay you enough to do all things for the future. Good luck with your choice.

Family and Career the two things that we all want out of life to be successful and have a wonderful loving family which you help built. Well its like this Family will always be there threw thick and thin as long as both sides are working to put the effect and make the family thing work. And a career comes and goes one minute the company can love you and the next they will replace you in a flash. I suggest you take to opportunity that is being presented to you and go after that Career make that money and support your family finacially You must not forget call them everyday make sure you show them how much they mean to you even though your a part this career is only for a time and your family is forever make life better for them and yourself go after that career and get that money. good luck to your and your family

Money isn't everything. In fact, money ruins most people, if not all people. I'd much rather choose my family over a fantastic paying job. At the end of the day, it's just a job. But if it's that great of a paying job, why couldn't my family come with me? I like that idea!! I would love to move overseas and work but it's just not feasible right now for my family and I.
