Does Your Child Have a Favorite Lovey?

Does your little one have a favorite "lovey", a stuffed animal or special blanket? In my profile pic you see my now toddler with her favorite lovey, and even my tween has a couple of stuffed animals that she loves to snuggle with. My newest little blessing is not quiet old enough to form an attachment yet. Personally I had a special blanket that I came across this weekend preparing for our yard sale we had Saturday. It is a "Miss Piggy" comforter that I got when I was in first grade. This blanket even went to college with me and on my first honeymoon! Now, granted, I was not attached to it like children are usually attached to such things, it is just that this blanket is so comfy! So, does your child have a favorite lovey? If so, how old is too old for such things, in your opinion?

yes, my daughter is 10 and still has a favourite stuffy that she HAS TO sleep with every night and also a build a bear (i dont know if you have it where you are - its a store, you can pick out the shell of the stuff and get it stuffed and then get clothes for it...rather pricy but she has a monkey that she takes everywhere!!)

lol, thats funny... my daughter got her monkey and 1 outfit for her bday last year and this year she managed to score a gift card from there so she bought another outfit for her monkey... she wanted another stuffie but mom and dad held fast and said she would have to get rid of another stuffy before any more could come into the house.... :-)

Hm my oldest is 7 1/2 and although he doesnt have anything now he had this croched blue and white blanket that he took everywhere. This started when he was about 18 months. Then unfortunatly we were on a road trip and left it in the hotel and they didnt find it ahhh. So I called his grandma and she made another one and overnited it..lol. Eventually when he was 4 he misplaced it, and I didnt get a replacement for "ki ki"-yes he really called it ki ki. He got over it pretty quick. My 5 year old never had an item of interest. My 2 year old likes alot of items but doesnt normally carry any around for more than a day. My youngest is still a little young, he loves to snuggle with blankets though. :) I would say for me too old would be school age. Once they were getting ready for school I'd have to help them to part with the beloved item.

Mine has "woobie"; he got it when he was a newborn and twelve years later, he still has it tucked under his pillow. I don't think that kids ever get too old to have a favorite toy or blanket; now if they go off to college and are still curling up with one, it might be time to have a little talk with them lol.

my son has a giant care bear (friend bear) he has had it for a few years now and it has had a few accidents and needed to be sewn up lol. i had, and still have a dog teddy called woofette (she had a partner called woofit until he was chewed up by my mums real dog when i was about 11). i don't think you are ever too old to have that special toy, if it can withstand the years of love that it has been given. as i said, i still have woofette! and i am 27...

Yes my 4yr old daughter has a black and brown stuffed doggy that she calls "Brownie" and that dog goes everywhere with her..the stuffed dog even sleeps in her bed. She got the stuffed dog when she was around 1 but she never really payed any attention to it until about a year ago and now were one big happy family with "Brownie" LOL

My daughter has a lovey, we call it her love. I posted a picture of her dragging it around. She is wearing a little white dress. My son has a blanket that he likes in his bed but I wouldn't consider it a Lovey.

My 4 year old is the only one of my children have a a "wubbie". It is a green blanket that was given to her when she was almost 1 and she has not let go of it since. It is so bad that I have to sneak into her room in the middle of the night and take it to be washed. One morning I didn't get it back to her before she woke up and I didn't hear the end of it for the rest of the day. It took about 4 months before she stopped telling everyone how I "stole" her wubbie lol. I don't plan on taking her wubbie any time soon. She has gotten old enough that she leaves it at home when we go to the store so I see nothing wrong with her having it. I still have a doll that was given to me when I was 2. Her name is "Betty", she has definately seen better days but there is no way I am going to get rid of her. She is too old and precious to me to toss her out. She does now sleep in the garage in a box with my baby blanket so I don't have to worry about my children doing any more damage to her.
