Cat wolfs down food.

Sometimes my cat eats way too fast, and then spits up his food. He does this at least once a day. How can I make him slow down so that he has a chance to chew the food better? I think if he would slow down he wouldn't get so sick to his stomach all the time. Please help.

Just give him a small amount at a time. Even if he eats that part too fast then wait about 5 minutes until you give him another small amount.

I have the same problem with my cat. In my case I think it's because I have two, and the one cat thinks if he doesn't wolf it down he won't get any. Or he's stealing from his brother. Either way, he vomits his food too. This is what I do. I hang around for a little while he eats. If I think he's eating too fast, I'll actually push him away from the bowl. He'll try to come back. But I'll push him again. This usually works. He'll stop to clean himself a little, or just walk away completely. But eventually he comes back but it's been enough time to digest the first part. Good luck
