James Patterson: Have you ever read his books?

Okay I am very picky when it comes to what I read. I really only like to read mystery, suspense, and some thrillers. I recently just read James Patterson's book "1st to Die". This was the first book for me to read by him. And I do have to say I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. Now I am reading "2nd Chance" by James Patterson and it also seems to be really good. So it seems that now I have found another author to read. So please share your insight of James Patterson. Have you read any of his books? Which ones? What is your favorite book by James Patterson? Which books of his do you recommend reading? PS: I am not interested in other authors. So please only respond with anything relavent to James Patterson. Thanks!

I have read all of the Alex Cross series but 4 blind mice I am now reading the 5th Horseman - have read the first 4 in the women's murder club My favorite was When the Wind Blows - next on the agenda is the lake house - sequel to When the Wind Blows. He is absolutely awesome. If you have an electronic organizer (I have a Palm) you can get 20% off the ebooks until end of June at ereader.com. Mean you can get some of his books for uner $4

Thanks for the offer but I normally check the books out at the library. I am a fairly quick reader. Of course the library also sells books that people donate. So if I find them there for sale they only cost me 25 cents for paperbacks and 1.00 for hardbacks. I thought there was only 3 books in the women's murder club? If there is 4, what is the 4th book?

Hi, speedy1279! I do love James Patterson's books! I read all the three books, '1st to Die', '2nd Chance', and '3rd Degree'. I would suggest you to read "The Jester". I read his "Cradle and All", "Along Came a Spider", "Kiss That Girl", "The Lake House", 'The Beach House", 'Roses are Red" and many more...( I think I almost finished 99% of the titles) I love Detective Alex Cross!

Thank you for sharing. I will definitly check those books out. Is 3rd Degree a continuing story from 1st to Die and 2nd Chance. I noticed reading 2nd Chance that is has the same characters as 1st to Die.

Yes, you are right. '3rd Degree' will be the last one. They are also called "The Woman Murder's Club" for those 3 series.

I have read many of his books and would recommend just about all of them. I haven't read the last two or three, but eventually I will. His books are easy to read and comprehend. Jack and Jill and Roses Are Red were good ones. I have read mostly the Alex Cross series. I think there are 10 or 12 books in this series.

I love James Patterson as an author! He has the ability to capture reader's interests to the point where they finish his books in one sitting. He is an amazing author! I just started to read his woman's murder club series. I read a few of them but I'm starting from the beginning and rereading the one's I've already read. I have a terrible memory so its almost like I'm reading them for the first time. I have read a lot of his books involving Detective Alex Cross. I don't think I have come across a book of his that I didn't like. I can't really name a favorite either because they are all unique in their own way!

I know what you mean. I just finished reading "2nd Chance" two days ago. I really enjoyed it. Today I went and check out the 3rd, 4th, and 5th books in the series. I can't wait to start reading them.

I'm not big on reading but his book descriptions does sound interesting. If only it was a film I would be more interested. I might see if I could pick up any books once my exams are over.

I would really suggest reading them. From what I have read so far. He is a really good author. But I understand what you mean. I also like to watch movies that are based on a book that I have read. But then the books are always better.

I have read James' book entitled "Suzanne's Diary to Nicolas". This book made me cry. I understand that James Patterson is famous for his suspense and mystery storylines, but this book seems to be an exception. It's a book full of love and emotions.

I have one James Patterson book, but I have yet to read it. The backcover sounded really good though. Its called "The Lake House". Have you read it yet? I have heard good things about his writing, so I am sure once I start reading him I am going to like him, its just the getting started part. hehe

I've never read the 1st to Die and 2nd Chance books. But I have read a lot of James Patterson's work! The Alex Cross series is fantastic. Right now, my favorites are the new Maximum Ride series. I would suggest reading 'When the Wind Blows' and then it's sequel 'The Lake House' first. They aren't exactly the same as the Maximum Ride series, which Patterson actually wrote for a younger audience, I believe. But the characters are the same, almost. They're not supposed to be the same, but if you read the other two first, you get more of an insight into the concept. The Maximum Ride series is: The Angel Experiment, then School's Out~Forever, and now there is a new one out called Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. I haven't found that one yet, but I'm looking for it!

Yes, I read 1st to Die and 2nd Chance. I also read the 3rd one. I don't remember the title. I enjoyed them all. The forth one, I believe is 4th of July. I plan to read that one too in the near future. I don't think I have read anything else by him.
