my daughter is going to her dad's for a week. this will be the longest time we have ever been apart. she usually just goes every second weekend. anyway so i've decided, instead of worrying and going crazy i'm going camping for a week. i love camping and can't wait to have me time for a week. i leave on tuesday and i can't wait

That is a great idea! Are you going camping by yourself or with friends? oh I hope we get to do that one day with my husband and son - that would be fun! Have lots of fun :)

Wow good luck! I have issues when my oldest two go with their dad. They only see him usually 1-2 times a year so it's usually for 1-2 weeks when they go. It stinks! I am always worried and wondering! It sounds smart that you are doing something to help keep your mind off of it! Goodluck!!!

I think that if you let her go for a weekend and she comes back in one piece she will be ok for the week. I know it is hard to let your child go. You should have seen me my daughters first full day of school. I was nuts. When she came home I had to know everything she did and what was done and how it was done. I hope you have a great time during your camping trip. Try to relax and take advantage of the little time you have all to your self.

What a good idea , to do something that you enjoy doing . This will take your mind off the fact that you are not with your daughter and I am sure she will have a good time to . You will both be able to share your experiences with each other when you come back and it will give you time away from each other to do something different that you both like to do . As a parent we need a chance to get away every once in awhile to enjoy ourselves but often don't take the time to do this for ourselves and think this was an excellent idea on your part . Enjoy your time away and have fun . Take Care !!

One of the best things that you can do for your daughter as a single Mom is take good care of yourself and be happy. Enjoy yourself, your daughter will be fine in spite of her father (trust me on this, I have been there). Have a s'more for me!

My daughter used to go to her dads house sometimes and I hated it. He seen her for the first time when she was 6 years old and again when she was 8 and hasn't seen her since. She stayed a week with him one time and I missed her very badly. He dropped her off at someone elses house, which was a friend of his and she stayed there. He has not seen her since then and I'm glad. I could never go camping because I would eb so worried about her, but I am sure your situation is alot different than mine. Have alot of fun.

You will get through it! I am glad you are planning soething for yourself so you aren't just sitting at home missing her!! I remember when my daughter first would go to her fathers house, it felt like I couldn't breath without her being there with me, I worried the whole time! Now he doesn't ever see her so I don't have to worry about it, but I know how hard it is!! Just enjoy the quiet and time to do whatever you want to!!! And give her lots of hugs and kisses before she leaves!

You will miss her so much but this will be "your" time. Enjoy it to the fullest. If you love to camp, then that is exactly what you need to do. It will be so good for you. Your little girl will come home after a week and you'll be so refreshed. And you both will appreciate one another so much more. Have a great time. Enjoy!!!

I feel your pain! My girls are leaving on Saturday to go to their dad's for 6 weeks. I am going to miss them, and will be a wreck till they get home safely! It doesn't help that they will be in another state!
