Education: Good or poor in your area? Active or not for learning?

This discussion is open to people worldwide. From Elementary to College how well is education in your area, city or region? For those that have children how are they doing with their grades? Be honest! If they are doing poor on their grades why do you think they have them? How about you students, how well are your grades? Are you active in school or not? If not, why is that?
