Woot I am a 10 today how can it be? I started at a 2

I woke up this morning and when I logged in I had a 10 star. How on earth can this be? I went from a 2 to a 10 star rating. I am shocked that I have it and I am sure it wont last as most of the subjects I really like to talk about have to do with religion or politics but I am surprised that I went from a 2 to a 10 rating.
I sure dont feel that my replies or subjects I have started have earned me a 10 star rating and there are a few people I know that are at 2 still who surely have better sujects and replies than I do.
I really think the rating system needs to be based off of how many best replies you have and not if someone has a grudge agaisnt you or not.
I know there are tons of subjects on this already but I am still shocked that I have made it from 2 to 10 rating and as I have said there alot more people I know that have low ratings that are far better at their subjects and replies not to mention typing skills...lol.

I really think the rating system needs to be based off of how many best replies you have and not if someone has a grudge agaisnt you or not.
I so agree with you on this! That is a wonderful suggestion, send it to mylot. I don't want credit for your idea, so do it.
BTW If they did, then I would pay attention to the star things, but as of now, I don't. Mine can be a 1 and I wouldn't care any more than I do now.

Yeah I am going toe to toe with spammers so you know, I will have a pretty yellow star by tomorrow. Ha ha on them, I like yellow!
BTW send mylot your idea on the ratings. I loved it so, do it, do it ....DO IT!!!! :oD

well I just found a subject to do with politics that I want to start a thread on so I am guessing my ten rating will soon be gone...lol.

Honestly, I believe it is from all the hard work and thought that you put into your discussions and responses. At times we don’t pay much mind to the things we post and hardly take credit for anything, but the fact is some discussions and responses here on Mylot have the ability to touch us within, thus giving a positive rating to those who deserve it! If you didn’t write worthy discussions or post worthy responses you would have not earned you 10 star rating! Take this time to embrace it, rather than doubt it because you are well deserving of it!

Hello EvanHunter,
Congrats on the star. Hope it is not a glitch like some of our earnings. I know sometimes getting in the politics and religion discussions can bring a persons ratings down. This is the first time I've seen where it works to an advantage. I always loose ratings when I go there. Hope to see it there for a long time!

Well good for you. "Don't worry Be Happy". I am like you this star rating system is all out of wack. There are those here on Mylot that do not rate their discussions once they start them, this is unfair tho those that reply to them.There are also alot of jealous people on this site if they do not like you or what you have to say, they will not give you a good rating, this too is unfair.Well Good luck to you and your 10 star rating.

Thanks red, and thanks for the reply. Still I say you are far more deserving of a ten than me. Without a doubt when you look at your rating alone it begs for something to be changed here on mylot to correct the injustice of this crazy rating system.

LOL, thats why I said a few post up above I must not be getting into politics and religion enough lately. I think one of the reasons is I spend more time replying to my friends subjects than those outside of my friends, to be truthful.

congratulations my friend, but i do really hope that you wont get this 10 seriously as we all know, somedays the starts are up and somedays they are down so they are fluctuating..if you take the 10 seriously then you will get upset when someone wil knock you down..
i agree with you, star rating must be based with the best responses and not of how many member would rate you positive..others deserve to be rated positive but lots of members do not rate anymore..that is why the best response of a member are not noticed they deserve a 10..for me, i am not fond of the star anymore not like when i first came here i was very motivated, but when i saw the system how it works..i thought it was not that good after all..

I am pretty sure mine started at about a 4-5 and quickly dropped to a 2 within the first month. Who knows it might have been a 6 to start but dropped so fast I didnt see it.

I would enjoy it more but I am sure it wont last I am also sure that there are more people who are alot more deserving of a ten than me. Like I said I think the ratings should have to do with how many best replies you have, or possibly even add in best subject for each day under certain categories.

I think you deserve to get a 10 point, and mylot has always rated its members according to their actual quality. Looking at the way you construct your sentences in this post, I have no doubt that you are really having good quality contents. So don't worry, you deserve it. Just keep posting good quality contents, and you will maintain your ratings forever.

I would still have to argue that something needs to be done with the rating system look at redyellowblackdog he has a two and he always post good subjects and backs his subjects up with plenty of refrence links. How can this man deserve a two and me a ten it just seems unfair.

Good for you...embrace the feeling of accomplishment.
I am a Newbie here and was shocked when I received a 10 in a relatively short time.
During my postings I try to add my perspective and create respectful dialogue. Then out of the blue my rating dropped 3 points...and I have no idea what I said to create that reversal.
I agree with you the rating seem rather mysterious...but good on you for a job well done...keep up the great work and your star will continue to rise!
