It usually is if you have many responsibilities (running a business) and you need to get in touch of people ASAP.

I don't think so. We can manage without cell phone too. I have just stopped keeping cell phone due to unwanted calls and irrelevant calls...

Where was the cell phone some ten years ago. Wasn't life going on? Now the technology has developed so much and cell phones have become cheaper due to competition among themselves, everyone is opting for it as if a man without a cell phone is not a man at all!!. I have a cell phone but never use it. I am keeping it for passing on some message to family members to whom I have not got one. Sooner or later I would like to surrender the cell phone.

Of course its not necessary! I've NEVER owned a cell phone..if I'm out of the house and need to make a call I dig in my purse for a Quarter and use a payphone! I think cell phones are highly overrated really...

I think it depends where you live and if you have the need for one. I live in a very big city and their is a need for one here. It is very good to have for emergencies.

Your question is a good one...and in my view it depends a lot on a person's lifestyle. I have had cell phones...then I lost it...didn't replace it for awhile and now I have one again. I think anyone can manage without one...we all did before. However my hubby and I live in a rural community and often travel isolated roads coming back from the city in inclement weather during the winter. I feel safer having a cell phone in case we have car trouble. In families with two working parents they often like to their children to have cell phones so they can keep in touch and check in. Business wise these days I think most people need one. I am a free-lance writer and editors need to be able to get a hold of me...so I need one now more than before. So in my mind the need for cell phones depends on the person and the lifestyle.

I didn't think that I needed a cell phone until I had one. Once I got mine, though, I can't live without it. They are very convenient to have.

depend with your life style, If kinda type person who work mobile or often going out door perhaps you should get one, to stay in touch with your office, patners, friends, and family in mean time. but if you work at home perhaps it won't be necessary, others can contact you by you home phone number. good luck.

It depends on your lifestyle and your needs. If you hardly have the need to communicate with others or are simply too busy with that, then you can save the money you would spend on cellphone bills and associated costs on something else which would be more useful to you and maybe more enjoyable. Although I have a cellphone, I hardly make use of it and its just a tool for easier communication should anyone wants to find me through text messaging.

hello ms saisudhamani is not really necessary to have a cellphone, it all depends on your life style; i hardly use my but is necessary for me because i have two kids, my advice to you is if you feel you dont need it them you dont is just another bill.from chabella1
