Or was all the hype just because its the last one. Is the book itself as well written as the rest?

It more than lived up to my expectations! It was amazing. There were so many loose ends hanging from different parts of the series that I must admit I had no idea how Rowling could possibly tie them all up, but she did! This was one of those series that seemed to have a "cast of thousands" and yet every single one of those characters was shown coming into their own or acheiving their goals or being defeated or in many cases dying. Everyone did SOMETHING in this book at least, even characters I had practically forgotten about. Once I finally got the time to sit down and get into it, which was yesterday, because my lovely husband declared I needed a break and he was going to take care of our baby all day, I was just mesmerized by the story-telling skill of Rowling. Her descriptions are excellent, her characters are convincing, and the plot was just out of this world. I liked it so much I'm already looking forward to when I have time to read it again, to see what I missed the first time.

Absolutely. I have been waiting for it for what seemed like forever, and it didn't dissapoint. Well worth the wait. There are a few things I disagreed with, but I don't want to post any spoiilers in this topic, so I'll leave it that overall, I LOVED it!

Yes, I felt that it was the best book in the series. It explained a lot, and you can tell she has been planning the ending for awhile. Very good job on Rowlings part. Sad to see its over!
