What is your favourite Joni Mitchell song?

I love "Both Sides".

I have a friend who did an absolutely amazing cover of "Case of You" once. This really says something coming from me because I usually loathe covers and remixes of my favorite artists' songs (when I am a fan of someone, I get emotionally attached to the way they do it). But her cover was actually the song that introduced me to Joni Mitchell, and I have to say my favorite Joni Mitchell song is "Both Sides, Now." It expresses so well the pleasures and trials of life and the illusions brought about by both... and in the end, even after you've lived both sides there is still that void that goes unfilled - that mystery of life and what happens within it that you never understand... you learn a little more as you live more and more, but you never fully understand who you are and why you're here although your experiences will give you clues as to what your purpose in life is. She expresses that very well through this song. It has a lot of emotional appeal for me.

I love the early stuff so it's got to be either 'Marcie' or 'Michael from mountains' for me.

I actually love River. She's brilliant I really love most of her songs. Has anyone picked up her new cd?
