I have thought about it several times in my life but for one reason or another....I never have... Two days ago, I decided to give it a try...why not me??? Every author began like this one page at a time...I am finding it quite intriguing...The characters of my book are very clear in my mind... So I am playing with it...so, how about you....have you ever written or thought about writing a novel??

I have always thought about it. When I was younger I wrote my own "novel" it was about 100 pages and it was my own pride and joy. This was back before my parents had a computer so it was all in handwritting. I tried to write another one but I would always lose interest or want to start a new one. I think it's quite noble to write a book. I could never keep with it. Good Luck on your writing!

OMG! I wrote my first "novel" when I was a junior in high school and it was hand-written too, because computers were still novelty items back then. The "novel" was a fictionalized version of my life in high school and all 13 chapters consumed 2 regular notebooks. And just like you, I tried to start another one but either I'd lose interest or want to start a new one...All this time I thought it was just me. I'm glad to know other people go through it too!

I wanted to be a fiction writer when I was younger, and even started working on a few novels. Of course, many of these were just thinly veiled stories of my friends and I, but much cooler than we really were. I never really got very far on any of these, either. I still ponder the idea of writing a novel occasionally, but I've found that I really enjoy writing non-fiction, and seem to be pretty good at it. Maybe when I get bored with non-fiction, I'll take another stab at novel writing! :)

I also started in high school writing stories about my friends and myself with our crush-of-the-moment. One story had us all taking turns writing scenes. It consisted of members of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team in jobs other than hockey player. For example Darryl Sittler was a police captain. Other players were cops, Wayne Gretzky was a rookie, others were kidnappers, bumbling kidnappers. It was quite funny and fun to do.

I am writing a novel, right now (well not right now, I am writing on myLot.). In fact, it is my second major novel, the other one is on hold because this one is much better. Oh I got the idea for this one from a dream I had and a writing exercise about Dungeons and Dragons. I always was making up stories in my mind and had even created a different world, so finally I decided why not start writing seriously, so I bought several books on writing and I got a subscription to Writers Digest and was on my way. I find though that I need more time in the day. One hour is not long enough.

i have been trying to write a motivational book, not necesary a novel but all effort has proved abortive. the reason being that i couldn't organize all the resources needed for the publication. the system where i saved my first job got crashed and i could not retrieve my jobs from the hard drive, then i decided to start afresh. I have not been able to gather all the materials i used initially.

That is a major dream of mine. I have about half of one written but I still don't know which way to take it. I lived and breathed my characters! BUT now I am so busy writing for other people I have put it aside. But it will get published someday...

My fiance has three science fiction novels published. They're really good!! I have a cookbook of Danish recipes out. As for the rest of my writing, I prefer non-fiction, to ficition. He writes novels, I write non-fiction.

I have given it a thought. quite a lot. I know somehow I could make a great novel. I have this vivid imagination that sometimes turns into a story. Sometimes I make stories in my mind when I cant sleep at night. I usually end the story after waking up in the morning. But still i cant bring my self to write it down. It seems to dissipate as I try to type it...

hi there! ;0 ever since i was in grade school, i loved writing. my works would be published in the school paper and the teachers would be all praise about my works. when i got in highschool, the writing urge kinda stopped. you know who it is in highschool. other things are much more important. i must admit, there were times in my life that i really really wanted to write a novel, or any book, as long as i can freely exoress my feelings and thoughts. but it just never happened. lolz. :) i guess i need more motivation. but now, there is something new that interests me and that is photography! :) thank you and good day! :)

Hi tinamwhite! Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone with what you're going through. I have written a "novel" before when I was in high school, although God forbid it ever gets published! It took me almost the entire school year to write it, thanks to the pressures of my friends who demanded to know what happened next after reading a finished chapter. However, there was never anything else that followed after that first "novel". Even though I'd get a lot of ideas in my head and I'd go on and start writing the first few pages, for some reason, none of those story ideas ever reached completion. So now, I'm still dreaming of the day when I'd finally finish writing my novel and perhaps even have it published, even if it's just one novel. But for now, I try to develop and enhance my writing style by writing articles. So don't lose hope. Keep to it. If you really want it and persevere, it'll happen eventually. Good luck! c",)

I've always been creative even as a child, it was a talent I was always writing stories, poetry and had my head in a book, sadly school never encouraged my talents, but I still continued writing. I never wanted them published because they were personal to me, but it would be lovely to have my name in print to share my talents with others. Maybe one day, I will write about my experiences of entrapment and my Great Escape, my friends have encouraged me to do this to help others, that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

hi, Yes, But first, I started from a simple diary and it will turn soon a novel. I've learned it from some other writers that you could start your interest in writing through a simple diary. You too, you can start your own novel, from a your own diary too. it's me, eunixia

Yes dear, I have. I have been writing since I was a kid and do it professionally now as a freelancer. I have started-- and stopped-- working on several novels. It's so exciting to start one- but then real life gets in the way and I just don't have the time to devote to it right now. I do better at short stories. I have notebooks full of them. But one of these days I will get that novel finished! I know I have it in me. Best of luck to you on yours! You should post an excerpt....

Yes. But i am not sure if it is called a novel at first. Because back in highschool, we are writing some anime kind of adventure (my friend was writing hentai stories) After knowing that Harry Potter started a novel, I got intrested of creating a novel as well. I was hoping it would end up also as a great movie, but, i forgot.. Because these day, I got hooked with the inernet. So maybe if I get a chance to write one, I will be a well known guy already ^_^
