I saw the news footage last night where the man was on trial for murdering a man's daughter. The father was present when the plea was entered-effectively admitting the defendant's guilt. He could not contain himself and leapt over to where the defendant sat in handcuffs. He managed to get his hands around the neck and was choking the guy. It took several officers to get him off. I say good for him. He was detained briefly and then released.

I surely hope he doesn't get charged with this..He acted out as any parent would...We can't expect him not to react in this manner..The guy took an innocent life but his got spared. This is horrible. I applaud the father. His grief is unbearable...

They noted that the father was later released, Feona. It really is horrible. No punishment is too great for these low lifes.

I think it would be very hard to just sit there. I am glad they released him. It was his emotions going wild. I cannot imagine being in his place.

I have been very fortuante not to have someone close to me murdered. I saw the footage and all I could think was, I can't blame the guy at all. He lost it and with good reason. I don't know how I would react to the same situation but I do know grief can drive you to do all sorts of things that are not normally in your nature to do. I'm also glad that they released him. They could have thrown the book at him for attempted murder. I sincerely hope that the moment of overwhelming grief he displayed has been satisfied and for his own sake and sanity doesn't happen again. He'll never get over the loss but life has to go on. It's so sad all the way around. I really feel for that father.

So do I, craftcatcher. I cannot imagine having to sit through a court process when one of my loved ones had been murdered. I guess I would feel just like this poor guy.

I know this and it is veru real for the father, how could he tolerate the guy who kieeld his daughter? If is obvious if the father or anyone else in his place is in fornt of the same kind of murderder and not in a handcuffs, anything could happen in this situation.

I don't blame that guy, I think he had all right to do that. To sit in the same room with someone who did something like that to your family.

I can understand this poor mans reaction! We all know that violence is not the answer and that it will do no real good to do something like this but I think if I was in his position I would have found it so very difficult just to be in that courtroom never mind restraining myself from attacking the man who had hurt , never mind killed my child! xxx

Good I'm glad he did that too. I'm glad he wasn't charged with anything, just detained then released...most court situations don't take to any kind of disturbances in court proceedings

I saw this also. As a parent, I felt deeply for this man. I am not sure that I would be able to contain myself either. What a horrible horrible thing for any parent to have to go thru.
