Potty training

My son has just turned 16 months old, and is a very quick learner (from what we've experienced with him so far). I was just wondering what age is good to start trying to potty train your child. At what age did you potty train your children?

its when your son is ready and when he shows an interest, my son is nearly three and still in nappys, in the middle of getting potty trained, i have been told he is not ready yet, so wait untill he is ready and shows an interest then there will be no stopping hem, there is not an asact time to start its just when the child in ready

Thanks for the advice. Right now since my son is so young it's hard to tell if he would be interested in potty training right now or not. I just went out the other day and bought a pack of training pants and a potty chair for him. Maybe one of these days we'll try it out.

It depends on when you feel hes ready. If you think he is take him and sit him on the potty. Tell him this is where you go potty. Put him on there often..first thing in the morning, after drinking, before bed..ect. Eventually he should get the hang of it. Put a pull up on him so if there is an accident its ok. PRAISE him for using the toilet. If hes ready hes ready..If not then try again in a month or so, eventually it just happens. My first son was 2 1/2 when he was trained and the other was 3. So dont worry if he dosent get it now. He is still a little guy. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for the advice. It's better to try now than just sit around and wait.
