Have the net, mobile phones and MP3 players revolutionised your life? Ofcom's annual report reveals that older media such as TV and radio are being abandoned for new technology like MP3 players and the internet. Daily mobile phone use is up 58% on 2002 and, over the same period, net use has grown 158%. People spend less time watching TV or chatting on a fixed line phone. The report shows women are spending more time on the web than men in some age groups. It also reveals a growing number of "silver surfers", with the over-65s spending more time online than any other age group. Do you spend a lot of the time on the net or on mobile phones? Are you a silver surfer? Is the burgeoning use of digital technology a good thing?

I must say here that the digital world has made a great difference to the way I work and communicate. I feel though, that there needs to be a balance and that too much time spent in front of a computer can (and has proved) to lead to ill-health. Personally I have a rule that I do not do computer work during the evenings, but I suppose I am fortunate because I work from home and can get onto the internet during my breaks during the days.

Well, I've become more organised using my cellphone as planner.
