threw a toy or other object into the toilet and flushed it? We went all week without being able to p**p in our toilet because my son flushed one of his Thomas and Friends Trains down the toilet on Monday!!! Our landlord waited untill yesterday (Friday) to come and fix it! So, I am curious... How many others have had the experience of a child flushing something down the toilet?!? What was the item and how was it extracted? Did it cost you alot of money to do so? Were you without a toilet for a period of time? To answere my own questions... Toy train...The toilet had to be romoved completely inorder to retrieve the toy and unplug the toilet. It cost us $60 and we were without a toilet for four days!! Please share your stories here. Thanks in advance and never take your toilet for granted!! :)

Well, when my brother and I were kids, he took my Skipper doll and his GI Joe action figure and took them on a date. Turned the toilet into a hot tub of sorts and when Skipper dived in her head fell off into the toilet in mid-flush. So, lets just say she lost her head on that date lol. Not to mention I got in trouble for having the toilet stopped up because it was my skipper doll! He left the scene of the crime and left the parents to deal with the evidence. Obviously they weren't very good crime scene investigators. I got spanked! Anyhow, thank goodness we had another toilet for our necessities. I am sorry to hear you were out money thanks to Thomas and Friends...lol

Not to mention that the beloved train has since been boiled by my husband resulting in some melted paint and part of it actually falling apart!! This cherished train is expensive and I am not too happy about the outcome but atleast we have a toilet again! LOL Thanks so much for your concern mamasan! :) HUGS

Thanks for the best response rating. I sincerely appreciate it! I think your son can use this dilapidated train as a toy when he has car crashes since it is already been in an accident lol! Glad to know that you have a working toilet again and he still has his train however sad it might look in it's current state hahaha!

I've seen kids flush training underwear, toys, rolls of toilet paper...I even had a foster kid flush a whole potato she got out of the bag of potatoes. The worst one was some older foster girls we had that flushed handfuls of tampons. It cost a small fortune to get that fixed. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have had my kids flush diapers, apples, and other objects down the toilet. They are fascinated with what can go down! The apple was hardest to get out. I just let it sit for a while and it rotted enough to flush. We had 2 bathrooms so I shut off the water in the toilet that had the apple in it.

It would have been better if we had two bathrooms but unfortunately we do not so it was a huge problem to go without a proper working toiletfor four days!! Thanks so much for your response.

can't seem to find an old watch of mine and have had my suspesions but can not say for sure so must take the blame of its disapearance upon myself was an expensive watch in its day almost 3 hundred. but never lost the toilet so i guess i was lucky there it went down nice and clean since it went so smoothly i wasn't about to waste my time going to the trap... lol did you think you might be lucky too poor Thomas might have been a little heavy from all the lead. good paint should not have peeled under boiling water try a good soaking in javax next time works better at killing the germs for sure weather you believe it or not. 4 capfulls in a tub or sink of water would have killed all the germs the toy might have picked up... that last bit should help you out in the future... sure hope the train was not done with the bad paint too...

Yes, Javex is a wonderful thing however I was not at home when the train was retrieved and my husband decided to boil it.... It's not too bad now....It doesn't look as nice as it did before but it is still a part of my son's collection! Sorry to hear about your watch!! Thanks so much for your concern and your suggestions too! :)

OMG that must have been SUCH fun! Usually it is toilet rolls or things that float that my kids flung (or dropped, yeah right!) down the loo - and it never got flushed so no blockage was encountered! Mind you it is no fun retrieving a lightweight plastic toy or a sodden whole toilet roll from the toilet! Hope that was a one off for you sweety! Hugs xxx

Thanks so much Mummymo...It is great to see you! :) So glad you didn't have to go through this as we had to have our toilet taken right out inorder to retrieve the train and then it had to be reinstalled costing us $60 to fix!!! On top of all of this it took our landlord four days to get here inorder to fix it! We will certainly be keeping a better eye on him so that this does not happen again!! Take Care My Friend! HUGS

I think its a right time for me to responesed on this! my story is not a toilet but its similar, its a sink near where the toilet is! At the moment we haven,nt had a sink for 3 days now because my mother-in-law dropped the lock of her earrings in the sink, and she said she dont wanted to lose the lock otherwise she won't be able to use her earrings, and that earring has a 22K gold and given by her friends, so my husband knockd off the sink to get the lock of her earrings, but sadly one bit broke from this so they need to get new one, and at the moment we spending £70 already and still not fix yet!! we phoned up a plumber to get it fix and he said £55 an hour plus materials that need to use for the sink.. so i dont know what to do now.. its cost a lot of money for the lock of an earring.

WOW!! That is turning out to be one expensive earring!! So sorry to hear of this PetiteAemie01! It cost us $60 to retrieve the train and get our toilet working properly again!! Not to mention that the train is a little worse for the wear but I think I can salvage that as it is a very expensive toy!! Anyhow, I wish you well with your sink. Good Luck and Welcome to MyLot!! :)

Hi heavenschild, I don't recall ever having this problem, but am sorry to hear about this happening to you. I'm very glad to know that your toilet's in working order again, but having to pay $60.00 due to this isn't good. It's too bad too, that you were out at the time your husband boiled the train. I do understand that his intentions were good though. We have had our (old) toilet plugged so bad one time, that we had to use our neighbour's bathroom. The only other thing I can recall happening, is the occasional accidental dropping of a hairbrush, or other item, into the clean toilet water. There was no flushing involved in these cases.

It was totally frustrating, but thankfully we were able to fix it later that same night. You're right, sometimes we don't appreciate our facilities etc., until we have to do without them.

Thanks so much for your support here and it must have been a great inconvenience to go next door every time you had to use a toilet!! We were able to go #1 and flush but not #2 very frustrating to say the least!! It really is great to have our toilet back even if it did cost some money! Thanks again my friend:)

Well, my niece hasn't done that yet, she's only 9 months old, but she does like to eat the toilet papr and splash in the water in the toilet! But my sisters and I were always flushing things when we were pretty little still - I guess mostly as a way of expressing "If I can't have it you can't either!" I remember one time someone - I honestly don't know anymore which one of us - flushed a barbie dolls HEAD! (Most likely to hide the fact it had fell off) It of course got stuck, so there was my dad, after work that evening, with the toilet out in the front yard, upside, trying to get the thing unjammed. It took him a good couple of hours, but eventually he rescued the commode - the poor barbie however didn't do so well! So it was free, and we had another bathroom thankfully, but it still caused a fuss! I hope you nevber have to go through that again! Good Luck!
