how do you feel about marriage of convenience? I know someone who married a girl from the states because his parents want him to have a green card. If you ask me, I think it is such a "cold" reason to marry. how about you?

The reason might felt cold and devoid of emotion but if both parties are of sane and mature mind then they have probable thought things through and have come to a conclusion that they can make it work. We can't really judge them for doing it as long as no one gets hurt and both of them are happy with the situation.

I agree with you! My mother's 3rd husband (yes - 3rd!)married my mother for that reason. She seemed ok with it, but to me marriage is much more sacred!

I know my husband's friend who did the same thing. But they are happy (lucky I guess). Anyways, he was a stay-at-home dad till he cleared all the required exams and has now started working and is having a lovely life. I know the green card is important to some people and they will do anything to get their children there. But along with if they checked out other aspects of the match too, I guess it should work out well for everyone in the long run. Their children are secure and also have a happy family life.

it would really depends on both parties involve. they should be aware of what they are doing and ready to face the consequences of the act. goodluck to both of them..

Hello there. I think the guy is marrying for the wrong reason too. Marriage is a sacred thing and its foundation should be love. We should marry only when we truly love the person. Such marriage of convenience usually does not turn out well. Usually when one party achieves his/her motive, he/she will dump the other party.
