How do you select your usernames.Do you select it in such a way as to reveal your gender. Now I regret that I have selected a username which reveals my gender to a certain extent.I wanted to select a neuter gender so that my privacy would have been more secure. What is your criterion.

I don't have any criteria, as long as I use a man's name since I am a guy. I only use two of them these one I have here on mylot, the other one as my favorite name which sounds aggressive. I still have my own privacy though, I'm not affected nor somehow worried by using them.

The other name I use is, Thor Mentor. I think it has three meanings, so I hope that explains everything.

To me your user name was neutral, as I think of it as an adjective, describing someone who lives in a large city and thinks in that way. Your profile says you are a 28 yr old male from India. I think being more forthright, and less anonymous gives more credibility to things that you post. It lets people see that you might know what you are talking about on some issues. So, my name is a feminine name, but nothing like my real name, and my avatar reveals that I am a married female who likes babies. You can learn much more about me looking through past discussions or reading on my profile. I am who I am.

You seem to have done an extensive study on the issue.Thank you very much for your appreciation.I looked up the dictionary and found what you said is correct. Its an adjective and it means one who has no national barriers or belonging to various nations or something like that. You have always got a positive view of everything. It was actually a new piece of knowledge to me.A thousand thanks.

My username is my nickname, I have been called "The Recycled Goth" for quite a long time now by all my friends and it seemed quite appropriate.

Generally, my usernames are simply selected because they are words or names that I have some connection to or just enjoy. I don't go to any great lengths to hide my identity, and hardly see revealing my gender as a breach of my privacy. 'Malyck' is a name that I found when searching for names when I was planning on getting a kitten. I never ended up with the pet, but I have grown attached to the title, and find it attractive. =]
