I saw a satellite- have you?

When I was out camping I saw a satellite glide slowly through the skies. It was very slow and smooth and you could tell its path because it blocked the stars as it went by. It seemed to be pretty low for a satellite and I couldn't figure out why they'd be running one so close to the earth over mountains for. Anyway, that was my first sighting. To date, it is also my last.

I see them all the time. But I live in a small town away from city lights and that makes a big difference when you are star gazing. We usually just drive 10 minutes out of town where its really dark, on a logging road and park. We watch meteor showers, and have seen the Space Station a few times when the orbit is in our part of the sky. Without a telescope, but sometimes we use binoculars to get a closer look at stuff.
