organize coupons? A friend of mine has me convinced that I really need to start using coupons because, well, she has had a TON of success couponing. So I am definitely going to start. I am not a very organized person though, so if any of you are couponers yourselves... how do you organize your coupons? I am looking for an easy, fool-proof way to keep track of them! Thanks!

I used to use a lot of coupons but rarely do these days...since we stopped getting the paper. I did hear there were a lot of coupons in yesterday's paper but I haven't gotten around to buying one. I used to carry my coupons in what is basically a long velcro wallet-type thing with dividers in it. I know they sell the accordion-type holders with dividers at the dollar store.

I have a very large expandable file the size of a large envelope. I try to keep everything organized in there. I will tell you that this weekend get plenty of papers there will be plenty of coupons. I plan on getting a few papers!

I am definitely getting a FEW papers this weekend. Doesn't the P&G brand saver come out this week? I still need to go to coupon mom and check.

I think the single most important thing when you get any coupons is to immediately sort them into ones you actually want to use, and ones that would involve you buying something you don't normally do. Those ones are a mixed blessing as often you end up spending money you wouldnt have anyway just to get a discount on an item. Then, plan your shopping list around your coupons, you probably already shop with a list as it such a great way to keep your spending on track, so start your list with things you have useful coupons for and go accordingly.

That is definitely a good idea. But I think the reason that I keep most of them is that I often find really good sales that with a coupon make the item really cheap or free. If that is the case, then I will definitely go about getting a brand I wouldn't normally use in the name of saving money. But I can't do that all the time. Thanks for the suggestions!

I use to use coupons years ago but now I dont. My friend has one of those little receipes holders and puts them in there. Then you put little dividers and your ready to go.LOL Good luck!

coupon organizer - a good way to organize coupons
I got a check organizer from Walmart pretty cheap, I think like two bucks and then used my own categories to organize them. ie, dairy, cereal etc. It looks kinda like this one.

I use coupons sometimes. I do not keep mine organized very well at the moment. I need to get one of those coupon books. Right now they are simply organized by food and non food coupons.

Well, then you are on track a little more than I am. I don't even have mine sorted THAT well! LOL! I JUST today went through all of them and threw out all of the expired ones... but still.... not organized at all. Maybe that would be a good start for me?
