I'm always working with paper, envelopes, and boxes. What's worse than a paper cut? A BOX cut. *shudders* I've started carrying around a discreet box cutter/letter opener or leaving one like that at my workstation. Light cotton or latex gloves also help when you KNOW you're going to be at risk for paper cuts. Keep your hands moisturized and don't rush.

use a small damp sponge to lick the envelopes and use a highlighter or something like a highlighter ( with a smooth edge) this should prevent any more paper cuts with the envelopes.

oh i guess i forgot about stuff the envelopes that the only way you are going to avoid paper cuts with that is if you get al the things that you are stuffing in the envelopes prepared ahead of time and take your time stuffing the envelopes if you work for a non profit group its not a race to see who gets done first. just remember that when you rush you get hurt

Oh, ouch! I used to work in the front office of a mental health center, and paper cuts were the norm, but still painful. A fellow office mate used to wear surgical gloves when doing office work because she got one paper cut too many. : )

Yup. I just got a screw cut from attempting to get a darn screw, which was pretty small to stay in place while I used a screw driver to put it in furter. Geez, it stung like hell. LOL ~Joey

Ouch! I hate paper cuts! It is amazing to me that the smallest cut could hurt so much worse than a big cut. The only way to avoid them is to be super careful whenever you are around paper.

I am a papercrafter... you may say, a glutton for punishment when it comes to paper cuts... this sounds odd, but I stick them in my mouth for a minute or two! They seem to stop bleeding and close right away, and I rarely have any redness or stinging. Another thing would be to use an antibacterial hand cleaner like Purell right away... it might put you through the ceiling, but it will only hurt for a little while!
