It's been months since my last poem posted here, and I still haven't gotten a poetry website up and going, so I figured I would post one of my newer poems for those who like to read them. :P Regardless some rejoice some mourn but the snow falls regardless oblivious to the love and hate we heap upon it the snow merely falls piles up drifts the water freezes over no matter what we say So will I

Yet you can say quite a lot with something so simple. I've read much longer poems with less depth.

*smiles* Thank you. I find that keeping it simple is best when it comes to depth, because you can get really lost in trying to make something "sound deep" and lose the real depth.

Snow - Snow in Michigan 1/1/2008 it covered everything, fences, trees, and bird house that has been abandoned for the winter.
Very nice poem - I've always admired those who can put their thoughts into words using poetry. I've added a picture here to go with your poem - it was taken behind my house New Years day this year.

Thank you. :) Oh, what a beautiful picture! I thought about going downstairs to take one of the snow we have here right now, but I wasn't really feeling up to it. So I'm glad you put up a snow picture for me!

LOL - I know how you feel, I just happened to have a ton I took New Years day :) All of that snow melted off but we're getting more now, not near as much though. I didn't realize until a bit ago that you are in Michigan also - much further north than me but a beautiful area.

*laughs* I had noticed you were in Michigan, but I hadn't heard of your town so I just assumed it was downstate. I haven't seen many Yoopers here on mylot. It is beautiful up here though!

Hey =) I've been trying to write more myself recently, still can't manage to let go and unwind while typing. Guess, I should go and sit alone sometime thats when i normally write better. =) Your poem was beautiful, very nice! Cheered me up no end! ~Joey

*smiles* Good luck with your writing! :) I have to admit that I don't really have the problem of not being able to write, in fact I pretty much write all the time. Even my planner for work and things like that wind up with random verses scrawled in them. However, sometimes I do find myself not writing because I get so caught up in writing I forget to do things that are necessary for life (like eating!) so I have to take a break and remind myself where I am and what I have to do. :P I'm glad you liked my poem. I write a lot of winter-inspired poetry since I moved to Upper Michigan it seems! Right now the snow is falling hard here!

lecanis; I wished I could say the same, once upon a time I would find lines coming free and although I had people who hated what I wrote, I had a special few who encouraged it and I seem to improve. I'd probably find it would come freely if I actually sat down and drafted my thoughts, although nothing always comes then. So do you post your poetry somewhere guests can read? I browsed the link your profile, although I had a message which said it didn't have any forums (probably a guest thing) I'd really would be interested in reading more and I would invite to a place close to my heart. (we have no poets though) Keep it up and keep 'em coming! ~Joey

I have to admit, writing is one thing I always have confidence in. I started having teachers send it in to contests and magazines when I was really young, so there was just never a time when I didn't know writing was something people saw me as being good at. :) I do like your writing though, so get an ego! :P

As usual Lecanis.........YOU ROCK! Great poem. Even if you do get a poetry website up and running, you could still publish these on Associated Content. You would get paid for page views. It's a low payment but, at least it's something. No, I'm not trying to get a referral. LOL Associated Content doesn't pay for referrals anyway.

Nice Poem i think i'd like to give a shot too.Hope you like it. A peacefull morning to begin is what i like to see The sun comes up the birds they sing There's no where else i want to be but during the dark winter days i sadly get up out late for there are no birds singing for me and the sun has lost wakes up too late. Hardly i can't wait till spring and the birds to rise again for i can't seem to like the dark but always prefer the light and after spring it goes so fast summer is on it's way the summer sun it shines so bright but again it doesn't last for long for there comes autumn with it's storm and leaves are falling down the autumn colours are reminding me that winter comes along. And then again the year is round snow is dripping on the ground i need to tell i have to admit that every season has it's charm Ok this is really amature but hey it's a start

Well, the poem you make is wonderful. You are gifted on that area I suppose. Me I have tried a lot of times to make a poem to give to my bf, but for the whole year, I only made 1 for him and takes me too much time. My boyfriend, is just like you, he is good in writing poem. It seems to be very easy to him. In five minutes, he can already construct one poem. I think writing a poem also would need inspiration. So who is your inspiration upon writing poems?

Thank you! I'm sorry to hear that poetry doesn't come easily for you. I think everyone has different talents, and I admire you for working at poetry even though it doesn't come so naturally for you. I think my inspiration has changed a lot over the years. Sometimes it's a person, most often my first love, but later other people I have loved, including my husband and son. Sometimes it's more spiritual inspirations, and other times it's simply nature itself. There are so many inspirations in my life when I look around. Not all the things I write about are happy: I had a pretty messed-up early life... but even those sad poems serve a purpose for me. I guess my ultimate inspiration is my own need to get things out in a way that will make me feel better about them, or will express my emotions in a way that is positive for me.

Thank you for reading! I'm glad you liked my poem! I am going to have to start posting my poems here more often. I know quite a few people have said they enjoyed them, and I just never get around to doing anything else with them these days. So I'll have to start putting more of them here! :)
