i like wrestling with the rest of them but how many of you out there believe its real, how many of you believe its fake? i believe that wrestling is fighting with precautions. they do alot of dangerous life threatening stuff, and still live. so part of wrestling has to be fake so that they can live to enjoy their earnings. wrestling looks so real!! they do a really good job, but when it come down to it some of it has to be fake just foe health sake. what do you think?

It's mostly fake and mostly real. It's been choreographed between both partners so they can provide entertainment that seems real and keeps people interested in the show so they can earn money.

If pro wrestling was 100% fake then no one would ever get hurt. Even though it is choreographed it's still so physical and when chairs and tables and steel cages and ladders and what not are involved, it's so violent that it does hurt and they do get injured. But it's still choreographed. That's no secret.

i Use to watch wrestling all of the time and it was very entertaining but these days it has gotten completely out of hand..Now it is just one big drama show, and no i do not believe it is real,as far as i believe it is fake...All they do is show off half dressed woem and a lot of drama....You are probably young and do not remember this but when i was a kid growing up,and even later ,wrestling was good..It started out good..When Paul Boush had the wrestling,he was the comintator, you would see a good match..There was no drama, no half dressed women, and the wrestlers did not come in making a big production...It was real...Paul Boush would announce who would be wrestling and some times would talk with them and it was real,,now days it has changed into a floor show, drams, fake, women half dressed, and just plain nasty..I cannot watch it anymore because it is not like it used to be,,,

The storylines and the reason for fighting is all fake. All the drama and outlandish occurances are fake. But the actual physical pounding is very real.

I was wondering where you were today lol! Anyway, I have known from when I first started watching wrestling that it was fake as far as what is going on and who doesn't like who. The fighting is real, but scripted so they already really have an outcome, unless its a new wrestler they grab out of the audience. I used to like wrestling a lot, even though I knew the storylines were scripted. Its still exciting to watch, because I don't know where the story will go.

well, it is both fake and real i believe... i am really entertained during the action scenes, but when they all go up and say things bad to each other and things happen, it very obvious that it is a drama...

I have a friend that works in WWE as a behind the scenes guy. He has wrestled in minors. The matches are scripted, but there is ways a chance of a missed fall, a bad landing, or an over zealous wrestler knocking the other guy loopy. My friend says sometimes the wrestlers start to laugh during a match, so they do that gritting teeth like they are really upset or they hide face.

I think its a combination. Its a choreographed fight within well built athletes and along with some real stunts too.But mostly its fake.I sometimes noticed that while punching, they don't exactly hit others body ,instead keep their hand at some distance from other players body.Secondly I also noticed that while lifting the player up , the other opponent takes the jump himself so that he can be easily lifted. If you want the exact details then you do one thing.Record the 15-30 minutes fight and play in your computer at 20-40% slower speed. You will come to know whats all happening.

Its my favorite sport.I didn't know that it was fake when I was a kid, but I couldn't let go of the liking later on either. The real wrestling sport has a lot more rules to it unlike WWE,TCW,WCW etc. The entertainment ones have even story lines to make viewers caught.Though it is totally planned, some falls are real and these athletes have built their bodies to endure the pain. The way they stay fit is very impressive.

I agree with the others when they say they're real and fake. Fake because the storylines and acting are fake and the fights are choreographed Real because there are very real risks when doing this and there are real people doing this with real families and real lives to risk when they are doing it. So despite the ham acting, unbelievable twists and stunts and poorly executed moves (there are some if you look closely...lol) I still enjoy and respect these guys.

I think it is acting. I think that as you say, they do a lot of dangerous stunts. Personally, I think is choreographed and rehearsed beforehand. They also stomp on the mat for emphasis so that it appears they are hitting a lot harder than they actually are. I mean come on..if some of that were real, there would be a lot more injuries than there are. You rarely even see any blood...lol

I have always known that WWE is fake. Their movements are choreographed. I have to admit though that they have a great way of showing that what they are doing is the real thing.

wrestling its an action that conecentrates with the taste of viewers and it is scripted,, it is fake i think they do it for publicity and they do it with corresponding payment based on their popularity.. i think thats the basis of being fake, is that they do that action with the script and sometimes they talk to each other in the ring.. cant you see it when you watch wrestling sometimes they talk abotu what will they do will they jump.. will they slum.. or what else so for me it is very fake... but ist only for me i dont know whats the opinion of others.. hehehe..

It's basically a big soap opera, a very athletic and entertaining one. Here is what happens, a match is set and a winner is picked. Then the two wrestlers will get together and decide what moves they are going to do etc. Most of the time they only plan out the finish of the match and a few key moves in between. They go out in front of the audience and improvise most of it. Now there are times when things will go wrong and a superstar gets injured and then they have to improvise even more to get through the match so that the person injured can get some help. Most injuries are real (even though the length of time they are out is usually more than it takes for the injury to heal, sort of like vacation time) But all of this is why they call it "sports entertainment" now instead of wrestling. Back in the 70s and most of the 80s it was more fighting and wrestling than entertainment. Even though it is scripted these days I enjoy watching it because its great to see the athletic moves that they can do, plus the storylines are just hilarious at times.

I agree with you. They are entertainers and are also well trained athletes. It has to been fake with some real stunts involved. Altogether it is a cool sport.
