there are so many emails from mylot, every day... it's boring...I feel... why does mylot send me so many emails no matter whether I reply the response in time or not? Now, I lift up a cry...please send me emails only when I don't reply after 48 hours... Do you agree with me, Please give your suggestion.

Mylot sends us email alerts every time someone responds to our discussions. I guess it is to let us know that we have someone who replied to us who may need a response from you also. They also send you emails if you have a friend alert turned on to receive their responses and discussions in your email inbox too. You can turn the alert off and only respond to your discussions you make if you like but it deosn't help the community who responds to you and they get none in return. I hope this explains. I feel overwhelmed with all of the emails daily also and I try very hard to catch up responding. It is very hard, especially when you have diapu service like me.

May I shield the emails from mylot? Why doesn't the system of mylot amend?

I'm not sure how you could actually shield them. you could have them sent to a different email address so that they do not all come to your regular email address. I used to add all of mine to a folder and then go to that folder if I wanted to respond to some.

I have a folder dedicated to MyLot. Even better you could create an e-mail address that is JUST for MyLot and check it when you are ready to answer. That way you won't get so many e-mails from them!

How do you know which have made comments... started new questions? That is what I use the e-mails for.

Well, what might benefit you the most, is to do like a lot of others on here have done. Go into where all of your friends are, and mark them to where you will get No Mail and then you will be the one who is in control of what discussions, etc. you choose to respond too. This is what many of us have done, because many of us have Full time jobs, etc. and cannot afford to be here in myLot all of the time like others can. Hope this helps you.

You can change your email notification so you don't receive emails from your friends on myLot. I have days when I am totally overwhelmed with emails and can't get caught up. I response to the discussions I understand or can contribute with a relatively good response. Many of the other discussions get deleted if it's a subject matter I have no clue what the member is talking about such as a technical question about cars, computers or something of that nature.

You can stop the email notifications so you don't receive them any longer.

what's your meaning... could I shield the emails from mylot without destroying my action on mylot?

If you're bothered by it, you can always go to "edit your preferences" section. Other feel the other (like me), we prefer to receive e-mails to get notified if any has started or responded on some of the discussions we've been through. This is how it how works: Edit your preferences = Account information = uncheck all the boxes located on the lower part of that tab (those which asks about emails from a responder or from your friend's lists and the subscribe to newsletter boxes).

I don't get any emails from myLot except the ones that say I have a response from the discussions I started. I use to get overwhelmed with all the emails but then I changed it to only getting ones from my discussions.

well its everyone's perception some would like it and some deny it , may be because it is easy to look on the topics a directly from email. if you don't want you can request , their must be some option in settings too , i havnt checked yet

I think you get those mail as you have kept your notification on for few friends. You can put notification off for them. Also if you start one discussion,. you will obviously get mail if any one give replies.

If I get over whelmed or the topic does not interst me, I simply delete it and go to the next one. One way to cut down on e-mails is if you have the alert on for any of your friends new discussion to come to you automatically you should turn it off.

Well, you complained about receiving lots of notifications. Actually a few days ago I complained I couldn't get any notifications from Mylot. I like to see feedbacks and I don't mind I have received a lot.

I don't mind to receive a lot of comments, but I don't like to receive many junk emails, because I can reply all of them in time. the emails of notifications are unwanted.

I have also receive many emails from mylot. Some of them are useful but some are just plain spam because some mylot users post less useful responses. I think that the mylot digest is enough because we can easily check if our discussions or responses have been replied to from there. I like zeloguy's solution of creating a separate email for mylot. For now, I delete most of the email I receive from mylot without even reading them. I only open them when the subject is a discussion I started or a reply that I am anticipating.

yes, so do I. I almost delete all the emails from mylot without reading them, so I think the system of mylot need amend, and don't send so many junk emails.
