national girls and women in sports day!

yup there is another holiday today beside Ash Wed. Thanks to many great and heroic women, who stepped outside the box and got involved in sports and paved a way for girls to have equal opportunity to have fun! So if you know a girl or woman who is involved in sports, give them a pat on the back or hug....which ever you chose!

This is so cool... I need to go look this up a little more!!! So exciting! LOL
My daughter wrestles Highschool wrestling and there is so much discrimination it is drivning me crazy.
I am going to get the info and post it at the school!!!

I'm truly grateful for the actions of these great women who took the first step. They kept on going regardless of adversity. I particularly enjoy extreme sports such as skateboarding and snowboarding. I also enjoy female wrestling.

No kidding. There are many female athletes that deserve recognition. I am an old athlete and since I'm not participating any longer, except for an occasional game of golf, I won't get a pat on the back..lol Two of our grown daughters still play softball. Earlier years they played competitive softball but now it's a mixed team, slow pitch softball. The coolers come out and they celebrate after the game no matter who wins. They have a great time.
