You've entered to see Jesus on his knees praying. What do you think? Who is he praying to and what is he saying?

He is praying to God our father, interceding for my sake that I don't miss out on his Kingdom. My most important prayer: Lord Jesus, please, please, Let me not miss out on your eternal life, please Lord.

I tried to figure this out myself before but then, I have read Jesus' prayer right before he was arrested. He prayed for those who believes on Him. He prayed that we should be as one as He is with the Father. He also prayed for those who will believe on Him in the future. May we have the same prayer as Him when we talk to God...

I have a feeling that Jesus is praying to God, the Father, and is probably saying, "Father, forgive them. Please have mercy on them as they slowly destroy the beauty that you created. Put your loving arm around them and teach them that killing is not the answer. Hold them in your arms and comfort them when they moarn the loss of their loved ones who have succumbed to the evils. Have mercy Father."

If I found him in my house I would hope he would be praying to the Father on behalf of me and my family. If he were somewhere else, say at a church or temple or even in the middle of a city or town I would think Jesus would be praying for Mankind. God knows we need all the help we can get!

He would pray to his father. - jesus christ
I think Jesus would be praying to his father asking him to help the souls who don't believe in him to believe.

It's ok, we know that people who don't believe see us as "gullible". I guess it's just you don't understand why we understand and we don't understand why you don't.

sorry, i apolagise for my childish statement, sorry if i offended anyone

no it's not even that, i was in a mischievous mood and had just been drinking after a really rough day, it is not something that would normally come out of my mouth, i am normally more tasteful that that, and if i was to make an argument it would be on logical grounds rather that childish remarks.

...when I look at the picture, I think He is praying for Truth for those who believe in Him because over 2OOO years we have lost a little of the glory of the good news.. and we've picked up some baggage along the way.. and these things keep the truth hidden and even give God a bad rap, He does not deserve.. :)

I would immediately know he is praying to God. I might wonder why would pray to God when he is God. I don't know what he's saying because I don't know if I should be eavesdropping. But, I might interrupt and ask him to pray that I find my car keys, again...

I see the image of this man to represent all of us. A person asking for help to overcome his emotional anguish. He seeks the help of a higher divine source because to be human and to endure the burden of his mind is so difficult. He is hurt, suffering, his grief is in his eyes. His is asking for help. If I walked in on this man and could feel what he felt, I would join him, but I would face him and not an icon and I would look into him and make him see that he is not alone. I would show him that I understood what he was feeling. It may not lessen his pain but the empathy could give hope. Maybe that is part of what he is asking for, that the life he walks is full of heart and not treachery. Heaven on Earth is not impossible.

I guess I did not really answer the question properly there... I imagine how our Lord was so afflicted for us while in the garden of Gethsemane, that His body sweated blood from every pore... the angels collected the drops of blood into a chalice... I imagine Him praying that this chalice pass from His lips (that He not have to endure what was coming) but, Thy Will be done, and not Mine...3 times He asks this... three times also He wakes His companions reproving them for not being able to stay awake and pray with Him these few short hours... I should ask that I too will be able to conform my thoughts and actions in every way to God's Holy Will.

I would be happy to see him. He would obviously be praying to his Abba, which is mine, and yours as well. According to the gospels Jesus' most common prayer was one of silence, so I don't think he would be saying anything. He would just be enjoying being with his Abba.

I may be wrong but is he not praying to his heavenly father to take this cup from me but if it not be thy will, let thy will be done. Anyway that is what I thought of when I saw him praying.

I would think I was being a witness to His Agony in the Garden. I should hope to prostrate myself on the ground and pray too.
