A mother's touch

"Mommy!" cried my little girl as she shows me a cut on her knee. I would clean her wound and put band-aid. "Stop crying now...you see?...no more!" as I kiss her. My little girl will then stop crying and smile. The magic of a mother's touch still amazes me up to now. Remember when we were kids? We also do the same when we're hurt or troubled. And just the same...a touch or a hug from our mother makes us smile. Do you remember how your mother's touch comforted you?

When I was hurt at my early ages, my mother blew on the wound and kissed it. That makes me feel less pain. Now I am a mother and I blew and kiss my daughter's wound when she is hurt. Does blowing or kiss really helping cure the wound? There is no magic kiss. Our care makes the kid feel better.

I agree. The care that mothers give to their children assures the children that everything will be okay soon and mothers will be willing to protect them all the time.

when my mother hugged or touched me it was a very rare thing because I have sooo many siblings and she couldn't take her time for me, well yes I loved it when she hugged me kissed my cheek everything like that. I notice it with my son now, he is only two months old but when he's crying cause he is hungry in the morning i get up and rub his belly for a second to calm him down. just that and a few soft words really does do a lot of wonders. It makes me proud to be a mother.

yes I do agree with you that a mother touch is magic for our kids its also a magic when we are little kids when we run to our mom every time when we are hurt even now that we are married we run first to our mom if we have something to ask or to comfort and even hearing their voice is a relief already.. for me I never missed a day not to call my mom except if Im traveling and very far..a simple kiss and hug for our kids build so much confidence on them..thats why they say that a mother hug and kiss is a magic..we get comfort from the hug of our mom same thing now that we are mom already our presence , kiss and hug means so much to them it assured them that no matter what we are there for them...my mother touches me and comforted me when I was pregnant she was the one who take cares of me until I gave birth...and theres magic that I never worried every time she is there for me..

My mum conforting me if I hurt myself still helps and I dont know why. I recently duslocated my knee and could not stop crying through the pain but as soon as my mum turned up everything just seemed so much better and I think it is because she has the ability to put a posative spin on everything. Dont know what I would do without my mum sometimes and I am almost 26 years old.

Yes, our touch has magic. It eases pain. It works for me too. When my back hurts, my husband would rub it, I can feel that it somehow helps. It really feels very comforting.
