Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men Couldn't put Humpty back together again. I know none of us is Humpty Dumpty here but do you JUMP out of bed every morning? When your alarm clock goes ring-a-ring-a-ding, do you slap the snooze then quickly spring off bed? Or do you laze there f-o-r-e-v-e-r till you realize you are running late? I used to jump (of sort) till I mini-sprained my ankle once. After that, I took care to get up, sit at the edge of my bed, rotate my ankles a few turns then slowly get up. What about you? Do you JUMP out of bed or...?

No, I don't jump out of bed. I hit the snooze button several times. It takes a bit for me to wake up. Also my bed is off the ground a little and jumping out of bed could get me injured. LOL

I crawl into bed, I drag myself out of bed. I don't exactly laze around it, but I do often have to dig my way out from under the cats.

I don't necessarily jump out of bed, I kind of roll out as we have a waterbed and it sits on the floor . LOL. I don't answer to an alarm clock either. My boyfriend has it set to get up every morning, but I don't hear it ever. Instead I just answer to an internal clock and find myself getting up on my own every morning about the same time 7 or 7:30.

Well if your internal clock works brilliantly, I would rather that than relying on a battery-operated clock.

It depends on what I have planned that day. If it is something I'm dreading I slap the snooze button until I realize through my half awake state of mind that I am going to be late if I hide my head under the blankets for 7 more minutes then I crawl out of bed and stagger into the shower with my eyes still half closed. But if I have something I have been eagerly looking forward planned I am usually up before the alarm ever goes off and I am ready to go. I spring out of bed, race through my shower, and get dressed in what feels like 3 minutes flat, when it is usually about 15. So for me it depends on the day.

tsk tsk - You are in the running for best response!
You count the minutes? This reminds me of something I do. I hit the snooze and I will tell myself to count to 20. And that I must get up when I read 20. So I will count them real slow and the next thing I know, I had fallen asleep.:P

I am not a morning person. I am more of a night owl. It usually takes me a little while to get up and moving. I can usually get down to taking care of business after a hot shower, but until then, I am usually a little groggy.

It would be very difficult for me to jump out of bed without doing myself or my partner some sort of injury! I switch the alarm on snooze for about 10 minutes and then sort of roll out of bed and slink off the end because I have to navigate around my partner as I sleep next to the wall and there is not much space around the bed. It would be so much more practical if we swapped sides considering it is extremely rare for him to be the first one up (but tha's another story!). I can't get up too quickly because I'd get dizzy and I also suffer with back pain which means that sometimes I struggle to slide off the bed so I don't think I would rise to the challenge of jumping out of bed.

It is a good thing actually. Getting out of bed slowly is better - unless one wishes to hurt him or herself.

Nope not me. Im lucky enough to have nothing too rush too. I can get my kids off to school right from the bed if I need too. Plus my youngest is autistic and well his routine is getting up at 630 am and they dont go to school till 9 am so I got a human alarm clock that will make sure I dont sleep to long. Id hit snooze but I might get arrested for child abuse.

I never jump out of bed because I'm not a morning person at all and probably never will be. I actually have to put the alarm on the other side of the bedroom so that I have to actually get out of bed, walk across the room and then turn it off. But even then lots of times I get right back into bed and wait for round 2 with my alarm clock. Every morning is a huge battle between myself and the alarm clock. The weird thing is that when I don't have to get up and am able to sleep in, I end up wide awake on those mornings, LOL!

Putting the alarm on the other side doesn't really work for me anymore lol... I just crawl over, slap it off then go back to sleep.:P

Ah my Lord, I don't really jump, it's more like I wake up gradually and when I'm completely awake I stretch, look at the window to find out how sunny - or not - the day is and get off the bed :) I rarely use an alarm clock because I hate that feeling of ... well alarm LOL and also because I am lucky enough to wake up by myself on time. WHen I do use an alarm I use my cell phone and set it up to the lowest sound. I have on occasion jumped of my bed, specially when my kids are sick or I think that something is/was wrong with them, but those are just exceptions, not the rule.

Yes if emergencies call, then jumping would be a whole lot of a different matter.

No I don't, I used to wake up automatically by my human instinct clock hehehe, how matter I was late to sleep I was automatically woke up that's why I don't like using alarm clocks coz I might disturbed my daughters who are still sleeping and sometimes I was the first to wake up first before the alarm clocks rings.

yea, I jump out of bed, but only because I have so much to do every morning, that if I lay in bed an extra minute, things will fall apart. LOL Five kids to get ready for school, lunches to be made, etc...

Jump? What's that, Wolfie can barely crawl out of bed in the mornings, I hate mornings, I am too grouchy and I can't function properly, my time is night time, not morning! If I have to get up I always set my alarm ONE hour before I have to, then I can have a lie in that way, keep pressing snooze button on my clock radio, amazing how quick that hour goes and more. It's a case of one foot first then another and then I sit up, it takes a lot of energy to get up, then I have to sit down again because I've tired myself out LOL!

Nope! I don't have to set my alarm anymore I get up slowly and lazily when I feel like it. Although I do enjoy just lying there for a few minutes remembering the thousands of mornings I did have to leap out of bed and get to work on time. Now I reap the reward of retirement. LOL

I never jump anymore...I have a bad back and knee so i do not jump..Its because i have a few ailments, but it is never good to Jump out of bed regardless of your age...When i talked with my doctor he explained to me that many accidents can happen from jumping out of bed, both young and old...He told me it was best when you awake to sit up on the side of your bed for a minute and collect you senses that way you are fully awake and not apt to get hurt...I have watched my children and my babies when they wake up ,they just sit for a moment, its a build in quality that all adults needs to learn from...I am sorry you sprang your ankle, had you read this before that could have been avoided..I do hope it gets better, and be careful..

Before I hit the age of 30 I was a jumper. I could get out of bed the very second my alarm went off without any trouble, But now a days, I hit the alarm and stare at the numbers until I know I absolutely have to get up. ANd then I', like a slug until I have my cup of coffee/which I never started drinking until I hit 30.

I'm not any longer than I have to be in getting out of bed in the morning because I think my bladder is connected to my eyes balls because as soon as my eyes open so does the water works, but that's probably sharing a little more info then you wanted hehehehe, So with that said I will zip it!!! Take Care mt friends.
