For all of you who have been following the ongoing saga of my depression, my employment workshop and my search for employment, I just want to share that I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. I had an interview today with Macy's and got up a little late. I was 4 minutes late for my interview and didn't want to go, but thought, well since I'm here at the mall, I'll look around and see if I can put in an application somewhere else. The first place I went to was Dillards and the next you know I'm through my second interview and signing pre-employment paperwork. Thanks to all of my friends on mylot that have offered their support and encouragement. It has meant the world and I just thought that maybe you'd like to know.

What fantastic news. Break open the champagne. Well I will anyway and raise a glass to you. You so deserve this. I have no idea who Dillards are but if they want to employ you they must be good guys. When do you start? See, I knew I had to buy a hat!

Dillards is a large department store, much like Macy's. One of the higher priced places to shop, or at least in my opinion. The reason you really wanted that hat, was so that I'd have something to drink my champagne out of! Thanks for being a friend.

Class will always attract class. Didn't you know that. Arizona is cowboy country isn't it. Suppose it's got to be a 10 gallon hat then. Don't spill any. Oh and sign in occasionally as we lesser mortals may need to touch the hem of your (expensive, hand made, Paris Couture) coat in the hope that some of that magic rubs off.

Congratulations on your new job, kbourgerie! I must say, I'm a little evious of you, I thought it would be kind of fun to work at the mall! lol. Anyway, congratulations again and best wishes to you on your new found employment!

Its funny you should say that, because I was just sitting here thinking, "Oh no, I'll end up spending my check at the other stores in the mall as well as Dillards". LOL. Thanks for your friendship.

Yes, I got a lot of support when I was depressed, when I was going to the workshop, after I finished it and now that I've gotten a job. Its a wonderful feeling to have that kind of friendship from people you haven't met.

Big hugs and bigger congratulations! I am proud of you for sticking with the job search.Sometimes you find the best job in the place where you weren't really looking for it. Will you get a nice discount at the store? or is it more corporate?

Thanks. I forgot to ask about the discount in my excitement. LOL. It will probably be around 20%. I think most stores are and I start training on the 18th of this month.

Good for you that you finally did got a job! At least you can have something tangible to hold on to now that you'll be having your monthly earnings again. Anyway I am happy that you've moved on even though there was a pinch of not going to that interview because you were late but look at what you've got a new job! That is what you call determination to get one despite being late. Again congratulations!!!

it is so good to hear happy news early in the morning. i'm really happy for you. congrats and hope everything goes well. it feels just yesterday that you said you finally got the certificates and all. time passes really fast. hehe for me anyway here. best of luck with your new job.

Believe it or not it was just last Friday that I finished that workshop and now the very next week I got a job. Must have worked. Thanks for your support.

Well done you must be really pleased! Well I can tell you are from reading the discussion. It must have been fate that made you get up a little late or did you just not want to go to the interview with Macys. Well whatever the reason its great for you.

You must be somewhat clairvoyant. Yes I do have a personal issue with Macy's. Someone I don't like works there and even though its in another state for some reason its never been my favorite store to shop in.

Yes, it is pretty much what I was looking for. I start training on the 18th and the training is 3 weeks long. Finally a store that teaches customer service skills! LOL. I won't know which department or what hours until I'm finished with the training. Thanks for being there.
