First I want to thank you for all my friends who make comments on my first discussion. That brought me lots of confidence. Mylot is a globe village, people came from all over the world can meet here, to me, it's a magic space. Therefore, I am keen on everyone's hometown, and I would like my friends to share something about your home town. Some famous , interesting, or useful things, I will be glad to hear that. About my hometown, Shanghai. Someone thinks it is a cosmopolitan, but I am not quite agree with that. Though there are lots of tall buildings in this city, compared with Beijing, Shanghai does not have its own culture. But I still live my city. I like eating delicious food in some traditional restaurant. I like riding bike through "NongTang",which means the road in the community. I like walking in the Bund and helping foreign tourist to find their way.

Hi there, superman. Welcome to myLot. Nice to be talking to you here. I live in Singapore, not far from where you are. In area, it is only a small country but a very populous one, housing 4.5 million people. It is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. We have buildings everywhere, but you will be surprised that it is also very green here. We are a garden city, so the government takes the pain to grow trees and shrubs wherever there is development. You won't find the 4 seasons here like in temperate countries, and it is warm and sunny almost the whole year round. Some months, we get more rain because of the monsoons. Usual temperatures are between 23 degrees and 33 degrees, a little more in the hot months. Come by and enjoy this place, because there are some very good attractions here, plus the shopping is plentiful. If you are a shopaholic, you can shop for many days here until you run out of money..LOL.

LOL..if you are a shopaholic and shop no end on your trip here till you run out of money, you would have to swim back from Singapore to Shanghai, a distance of about 3800 Km.

I am currently living in the "Radish Capital of the World." I moved here 1 1/2 years ago. It is a town in Ohio with 746 people in it. It is a very small town. But each year in June, they have a Radish Festival where they come from all over the country to attend.

It is a regular little festival with lots of food, games and live music. It is more like a large gathering to see people that you haven't seen in a long time. They give a big baggie of radishes away to everyone who attends. They also have a radish cooking contest. The tastiest radish dish or dish made with radishes.

I'm from Goshen Indiana originally. There were a lot of Amish that lived in the area. So to see a horse and buggy going down the road was nothing unusual. Some of the Amish kids went to school with us when we were younger. In general the atmosphere is pretty laid back. The food is homestyle, a lot of meat and potato with a dutch-german twist. I've gone back to visit and its changed tremendously. It's a lot more commercial and about twice the size that it used to be. I miss the small town feel, but its still a nice place to go visit.

My hometownis very small with a population of 1300 friends and a dog according to the sign leadinginto NewellS.D. People in town all know each other and most are interrelated to each other. We have fireworks on the fourth of July and on Labor Day. we have parades in the summer time. We have a July fourth picnic at the Experiment Farm aplace dedicated to information for farmers and experiments on diffent kinds of crops and vegetables and fruits. the tables are all set up there and tons of fresh ripe watermelons are put on allthe tables and then all the farm people and town people bring tons of their favorite casseroles and everyone eats and eats and eats. there are nature walks and a lot of small gardens. a really interesting place.

Thank you for telling me so many interesting things. As a Chinese, I cannot imagine a twon within only 1300 people, that is one-ninth population in our university. The life there must be very harmony and peaceful. I admire it~

My nearest city is Portsmouth. This is a busy port with many big ferries transporting passengers and vehicles across the sea to other European cities. The British Royal Navy is also based here and ships from other nations come to visit. The Chinese navy came recently and I saw many Chinese sailors in the city. Tourists come to visit the collection of historic ships.

Hi cuplsuperman, welcome to mylot. I live in New York City, a place many people like to vistit. It is called "The City That Never Sleeps" you can find almost anything at anytime of the day or night. We have the Statue Of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Times Square where Broadway is located and you can see a wonderful play, thousands of restaurants of every cuisine you can think of. It is a very fast paced city, people are always on the go. We have sections where our different ethnic groups live like Little Italy, Chinatown, Little India to name a few. It is a very diverse city and truly an experience for everyone to come and see.

I live in a small town in Connecticut, USA. An interesting fact about my town is that there are more cows than people. There's not much to do around here, there are just a lot of farms. We get beautiful sunsets here, especially in the summer. I used to live just outside of New York City. It's a completely different world there, very busy and lots to do.

my hometown, yeah, it's just a town, but beautiful, fresh air and quiet, sometimes don't like too noise in the city. and people in our town most are friendly, like to help others, especially the mineral water, it's real and natural mineral water, people live such environment would live longer. Oh, don't imagine it's a very uncultured town, there is also good/convient traffic, economy is fine, although cant compare with other developed place, if you have time, you can go around shopping, go to the net bar, eat good food at some special shops......

Halo shanghai.. I live in jakarta. Jakarta is very interesting since so many people from outside jakarta live there. Even from other countries. The chinese people is quite a lot here:) and most of them are success people. But, i really hate the traffic in jakarta, it takes a more than one hour from my home to my office..

My hometown is Shanghai, but now I am a university student in Beijing. I have been to Singapore and Malaysia, and very interested in food in Southeast Asia. Maybe you can show me something. Also, the traffic is one of the most serious problems in big city. Maybe the development of track transportation can decrease that pressure.

My hometown is a quite small place in the North East of England. There's not very much interesting about it except that the people are a bit backward mainly - so people I get on with are a rarity!! :) If you've heard of the word chav, this is where they all came from! I can't wait to escape again. But it's not all that bad. For a small town we have a hell of a lot of bars and pubs, and so the nightlife is pretty good. Also, the council are trying to make it look much prettier, and are developing the shopping centres and transport network. But it's not a place I think I'll ever miss.
