I think friendship is the best foundation of love and friends can be lovers. A friend is a person whom you knows well and knows you well too. So having a friend for your gf/bf is better than having just any other person for a relationship. But in reality, that's not always the case. Some people are very good as friends but when they try their relationship as lovers, they ended up incompatible and even loses the good friendship they had before. Some mistook the closeness and sweetness of friendship as something beyond it. Some people are meant to be just friends. A matured person knows exactly the difference of love and friendship. When you feel love, you already knew that it is love already, so that even though he/she is not your friend, you still give it a try and go into a relationship. So, I would say in the end that it still depends on what your heart says. If he/she happens to be your friend...happy are you because you have two bonds that holds you and that will make your relationship stronger.

I do. My huband and I became friends first. We stayed that way for three years and then he asked me to marry him. I had to make sure we could be friends before I could ever marry him because I already had a daughter also and she needed a father in her life.

Yes it is good to know each other very well and if you are sure that you were meant for each other or will end up on marriage. It says that It is better to loose the one that you love and meet someone better than her/him rather that to loose one man /woman that is your bestfriend for all times. Its hard to find a true friend, it only came once in while. Most friends that turn into lover and end up in breaking don't turn their friendship back.

I agree with you,as if you are friends,you can tell him what you think without too much consideration,you can even tell him what kind of boy you like,but if you don't want to fall in love with him or you fell that you each other do not fit you can go out of your feelings without hurt each other,and you are still friends.
