Last year I just went out to eat with a couple of friends. the year before, the day before my birthday my sister was still in town so we went to one of my favorite resturants and ate with my mother and brother. I'm getting older and frankly celebrating and parties haven't been really high on my birthday wish list. Now, when we had a Doctor Who club, and the Doctor and I share a birthday we used to have a costume party to celebrate our mutual birthdays. That was fun.

As life may go on and people also change because the time changed us, I cannot actually tell you how I celebrate my birthday every year with the same people around me and the same lifestyle that I have right now. When I was a kid my parenrs always celebrate my birthday with our family friend until I reach my highschool life. Things get a little bit different until I got to college, I seldom celebrate m birthday because I believe birthday is only for kids, cakes, balloons and etc.

Speaking of high school life, you said that college life is better than high school life, but for me highschool life is better. I don't know why but I feel more happier in my highschool days. Many things can accedentaly happen everyday in the campus. Maybe because it is my understanding of happiness in my life.

I agree with you things will change when we get in to the college because we will get good friends and we may get some freedom than school life so we can go to the parties with friends so we can spend some money and i enjoyed lot in my college life than now.

Hi Dasari100! My last birthday is the saddest birthday I ever had. It is a long story and I can't really tell you why. However, I think what made it at least happy somehow is because my hubby was with me and he tried his best to make me happy. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

Well, my birthday is coming up in less than a week, but I am not excited. My oldest son happens to have a birthday the day right after mine. He is turning 11, so his is a bigger deal. We aren't doing parties for him anymore starting this year, we feel he is too old now,and we cannot afford them much. We used to do a huge family party will all our family and friends for both of our birthdays, but past few years it has just been a party for him. This year we will just have a nice dinner with just us and some cake and a couple presents.

I think when ever children turn 10 or 11 we will get so much happiness because we all most all every parents forget to celebrate their own birthdays because they always look for children birth day because the love their children unlimited and in my home parents will do in the same way.

We don't usually do anything but maybe a simple cookout or something like that. My wife and I usually get each other a gift on our birthdays, but we ask others not to do the same, and of course the kids always have gifts.

I for one, do not celebrate it much. But it seems to be important to celebrate when people´s birthday´s are 30, 40, 50 or 60 and way up in age. I did try to escape it when I became 40 two years ago. But did not. You get one year older, one year wiser but also get sparkles in the skin, you feel more tired and the kids seems to grow away from you...so what is it really to celebrate?

Birthdays for me are not as important as before. I am content to just get a greeting for my birthday. It would be nice to get a gift but just being remembered is a treat. I only have small pleasures. hehe

I think few people in home town also they don't celebrate their birthdays and there are so many causes for that one and not only for financial status and it influences so many things for that one.

I do in the same way because now a days it is very costly to offer food from hotels so it is better to give them at our houses so we can get lot of freedom we can make food in good way with less cost.

Last year for my birthday I had a dinner party at a local steak house and invited the members of my family. I bought small gifts for all of THEM and sat them by the places.........small picture frames and scratch off lottery tickets in children like gift bags......and we all had dinner together. It was very nice to have all of my siblings and 3 of 4 of my children and my grandchildren with me to celebrate my 53rd birthday at a place where I enjoyed the food.

It really depends. Last year, I didn't have friends come over into my birthday instead my boyfriend and I dine out then we watch some movies... I can say that i really had a great time.

I don't do anything particular to write home about, there was one year when I went out for two meals, one with my boyfriend, one with my family. Other than that I tend not to do anything, because I cannot be bothered organise something, I wish someone would care enough to organise a surprise birthday or do the planning but tell me it is happening.

My birthday was boring... I didn't celebrate at all... and didnt spend time with my friends and family. I was stuck in a palce where can't go anywhere so I celebrated it alone but I managed to go to schurh though.
