What do you do when you're feeling depressed?

right now, im here at cyber cafe, feeling depressed all over. and i really can't of anything to do. everything around me, i feel very distant. how bout mylotters? how do cope up with depression? how do you interact with other people when you are depressed?

Whenever I am depressed, I sit on a chair in a darken room, and think about the best moments of happiness in my life.Sometimes,it really work to cope up with depression,if not, then I hang out with friends and think a very less about that incident with pains me.I react normally with my friends, but of course,I frankly speak about the cause of depression to a friend,who is more closer to me.I unwinds me.

i usually go out alone,at the malls, just about anywhere i can think of. i try not to think about the things happening in my life but when im about to come home, everything came back, and i can't help picturing me and my husband fighting again.

Hi qt-dsy, for me, when I am feeling depress, it was always two things, there are times that I want to just be alone, and there are times that I want to be close with people I care about, those who can listen and understands me. When I wanted to be alone, I respect that, I stay away from people, you know, being the introvert type for as long as I like it- that really helps a lot. I can feel my senses, I am able to reflect about my life and to think about it without others affecting my will on dealing with depression- and people who knows me that much, understands that. When I like to be surrounded with wonderful people, that helps as well, you know, I get to share my views, what makes me depress, and hear some comforting words which uplifts my spirit.

my best friend is not around yet. and i have been really feeling depress with the things turning between me and my husband. i haven't try being with a lot of people, whom i can really depend on. im living with my family now, but it doesn't help me that they are around. maybe what i really think are friends? don't you think?

I just went through this not too long ago and everyone here gave me some great advice. I would suggest taking a long bubble bath. With candles and no lights works great for me. Then get outside and go for a walk if you can. The fresh air will help take your mind off of other things. This sounds nuts but sometimes I just need a really good cry to feel better so I put in a movie that I know will bring on the tears and after a good cry I feel better. thanks a lot, im considering that one right now when i got home. candles and maybe some soft music? i have been crying a lot lately, and i don't want to do that anymore. truth is im getting tired of the things between my husband, and everything is really starting to eat me.

Why are you feeling depressed sis? I don't know if I can say if I felt depression at that time I had a breakup. But with me being sad, like I am right now. My husband just left to work in Iraq just last Sunday. And it's hard for me because I'm so used to him being around the house all the time, and I can't function well without him. It hurts like it crushes my heart. With situations like this, I make myself so busy and occupied that whole day, so by bedtime, I would be so tired that I won't think of anything but go to sleep. And tomorrow is another day to go through with. I would spend most of time working online so I would forget that he's not here. I spent my yesterday shopping and it worked for me, but when I got home, I felt sad again because I know my husband won't be home by the time he gets home from work the usual night time.

If you had appendicitis, you'd gp to a doctor right away, right? If you feel depressed, then you may have a medical issue too. See the doctor and tell them you are depressed. They can help you out. Why suffer if you do not have to? Let them help you out, OK? I did and feel MUCh better! (And frankly....not a big fan of doctors? But if it helps..I'd go!)

When i am depressed i don't just talk much to anyone and just want everyone to leave me alone and i just try to think some better moments of mine.Even when this don't work for me then i just go to have a sleep and don't think the thing that is responsible for making me depressed but still its not always that much easy to divert the mind. So for me just living alone for sometime and relaxing a bit is the medicine for the depression. have a nice day!!

i always take a break from everything and do something that i enjoy. I usually watch a comedy or something that could make me laugh. If not i start cleaning up the house and at the end when i see that everything is sparkling i feel very satisfied with myself and the environment i live in ... that gives me strenght to go on. Sometimes i call my mum or my sister and they manage to make me feel better with myself just with a good and kind word. So cheer up ! Life is not that bad!

When I am feeling depressed, I'd rather not talk...but I can still manage to smile. I usually go to cafe like you or at the park and think as much as I can til I get better.
