Do you think tans are "out"?

I read on the MSN page that comes up when you log "out" of facebook that tans are out this year. I know that real tanning and tanning beds are bad because they can cause skin damage and even skin cancer, but I really don't understand why tans from self-tanning products would be "out" when all the new gradual self tanners just came out onto the market very recently. I personally don't care what MSN says, I don't want to be super pale in shorts or a swimsuit so I will still use my self-tanner. I don't overdue it like Victoria Beckham, but I do like to have some color for summer. So tell me what you think mylotters, are tans "out" this year or not???

People who are naturally dark have beautiful skin but when it's tanned by the sun and your skin goes all leathery and burnt-that'd disgusting and definitely out. I personally have always thought that white skin is beautiful. It's so soft and healthy and luminous. Think Gwen Stefani, Nicole Kidman and Dita Von Teese. I think white skin is definitely in.

I don't tan under the sun, I use a moistureizer with self-tanner in it. It give good natural looking results without the UV exposure.

Saying that tans are "out" is like saying that everyone out there who are naturally tan (like me, as I am Filipino) is outdated and not "in". I think this is stupid. I like being tan and one of the things I love doing at the beach is working on getting my tan darker.

Yeah I don't think tans are out either. I use dself-tanner though because of the dangers of the sun, and plus I can't tan outside at my house pr the closest beach because there are too many flies that bite and I am allegic to them.

I would say tans are out period in my eyes but then again thats just my eyes cause they damage the skin and cause early wrinkling id rather just be pale then have wrinkles early.
