Don't we need more than two days a year-mother's women's day to honor women?

I think two days are insufficient, our better halves (and they truly are men's better halves) definitely deserve a more days to honor them! I'd like males and females to have respond with reasons why they they think so, please! How many more? Why?

in my opinion this day should not be made specific for a single day we alllove our mother and each day we some how or the other get a chance to see the importance of her and how much we love her so friend i dont think that 2 days or 3 or 4or 5 or 6 days will do anything we can show r love towards her all 365 days a year ... i hope no one will mind this either!!!!!!!

Me, i appreciate my mother and even my father everyday. My owe my life to them and what i have given to them now is never sufficient compare to the love they have given me all through my life. I begin with myself, i treated everyday as my parents day. Life is too short, we have to learn to appreciate every single minute that we are together with our family.

I agree with you completely. But what of the wife? Many people still treat their wives as someone who is below them, who has to obey them, and someone who is of very little consequence except as a bearer of children or an object of pleasure?

I think that all males and females should be honored every day of their life. It takes alot of work for a man and a woman to raise and provide for a family daily. I do not think they should pick out just a couple of days to make us feel special. They should all be special for every one of us men and women who work so hard daily.

In general in life, all humans must honor, respect, love each other, that i the way to behave in life to be happy and successful, but my reasons for considering more days in honor of women have been mentioned as comments to elsoft12's response above. Thanks for responding!

I don't think we need any more publicly recognised days for this honouring and appreciation, but I do think people need to take the time out for each other any and every day =) Little gifts (both materialistic and not) for no reason other than for love and so on. The words of love and encouragement, the special time together, helping each other, doing something unexpected etc. I know I always appreciate it more when it's not just because it's Valentine's Day or my birthday =)

Well ,we need to respect and honour the fellow humans every moment day of our life.Just having a day or extra as a Mother's day ,father's day ,sister's day doesnt mean anything. They are all part of our lives and they need only need true love in return from us.Lets spare some moments of everyday life for them....Not a day or two.

I can see your points, Tar, but personally I think making us have special days puts us in an unequal position. If I want gender equality, I don't want more special women's only days and all that, you know? I don't mind if a few ignorant idiots think I'm inferior, because they're not a part of my life =) I don't necessarily see not having had a female President/leader as being a sign of discrimination - I wouldn't elect a woman just because she was a woman if she didn't have the qualifications and policies that I agreed with. I would agree that it is more difficult for women to make it in some occupations and areas of the world, but that fight alone and the respect from our loved ones, as far as I am concerned, is honour enough. I don't need a few token Women Days. =D Thanks for this discussion!
