I can't believe how everything is going up ridiculously. The price of fuel here in Australia has now hit $1.50 per litre, food has also gone up and interest rates have rose alot here. It it becoming harder for alot of families to make ends meat and put a roof over their head and food on the table. This year being at home with bubs I have had to search for other ways to make extra income from a variety of sources. Here are some of the extra ways I make some extra cash: mylot, helium, bux3, bux.to, neobux and selling Avon products via catalogue sales. So how do you earn extra money to make ends meat? Please share you successes.... Please donot post referral links on this discussion, just interested in hearing your success stories on making extra income online and off line. Thanks.

I have to agree, seems like the economy is getting worst. I thought it was only here in the states. But I guess not. It's scary because I just quit my job in November to run my websites full time. So hopefully giving up a guaranteed $90,000 per year was the right move. But so far it looks like it is. =) The way I way I make money is blogging and affiliate marketing. It's the best work at home career I've found. Chasing after a work at home job is like winning the lotto especially when there are so many ways to make money at home if people are willing to get out their comfort zone. I started making money online reading emails, then moved to taking surveys and then when I realized I could make money referring other people to do the same, I was hooked. So affiliate marketing has been my consistent way of making money online since the early 90's. A lot of home based businesses come and go but affiliate marketing is consistent. Eddy

Thanks! Well trust me I didn't give up that money without preparing. lol I made sure I saved a lot of money and plus I had years of experience doing affiliate marketing where I was consistently making money. But the last year I really made a concentrated effort to invest in learning more and trying different things. It paid off. So then I felt comfortable leaving the security of my job because I made sure I acquired additional marketing skills that would help me grow my business. So it was well thought out. Plus I have an exit strategy. lol If all of sudden my sites just totally stopped making money, I know enough about internet marketing to consult others and make money that way. So it's always good to have an exit strategy for everything. You gotta think of life like you were Jason Bourne or James Bond and know how to get out of any situation. lol

Now I think the economy is pretty bad everywhere at the moment. Wow, you must be doing really with you affiliate marketing for you to be earning more then what you were working. Giving up $90,000 a year would have been hard, but I think if you are determined enough and have drive anything is possible. Sounds like you have both of these qualities. Congratulations on your great success, hope you keep on succeeding.

Hi, I'm from Malaysia. Today, the oil price in my country rise to RM2.70 per litre from RM 1.58 per litre. That is horrible. Yesterday, all the oil stations were full of cars because the oil price will rise to day. Yesterday, all people were rushing to get the cheaper oil price. I hope the oil price can be controlled soon and I hope can find an alternative for oil. If not, it is very hard to make ends meet.

I think soon car manufacturers will probably start manufacturing alot more cars that don't run on fuel. Such as electric cars. There are also other methods, I hope though that this happens sooner and not later.

Well yes u r right, but most scaring thing is the un certainity we are having, they are still rising, no one is taking measure globally to stop it. what industrialization or technology will do when u wont have any thing to eat. instead of increasing salaries, the prices must be curtail and controlled and make sure that in this century atleast every one can have basis necessity like food, water, cloth and shelter Take care

Yes I know it is becoming very frighning when you look at your figures, our salaries need to keep rising too, to keep up with all these price rises. It is scary thinking what our future may hold if our economy continues like this.

Hello littleowl, I am glad you are getting some extra income elsewhere, it all helps. It is so hard to find money for bills etc these days. Bux3 I can't get into at the moment either think their site is undergoing maintence that is what they said on their announcements before I couldn't get onto their site. So hopefully it will be up and running again soon for us both. Take care my friend, wish you lots of prosperity and happiness.

The best way to earn and survive in the current scenarion is to drastically curtail the expenses. Yes we tend to spend more than we ought to. Try first by preparing the list of expenditure that are essential, like grocery, medical, education etc. Than find out what expenditure can be avoided, like telephones, electricity, petrol, food, yes we spend more on foods. I think this can be a good begining. Try it and see the result, it is astonishing.

I agree with you. when the fuel price increase everything increases. We have to revert to basic living and spend only when necessary.

Yes I agree with you 3066charm I have started budgeting alot, I also write down all my bills etc so i can track what I spend and make it last. It is sad though that there is not much money left for anything else other then basic necessities, that is why I have started looking into other income sources, every cent helps, lol.

You appear to have various sources and ideas of earning extra income. I am poor in this field, except mylot and Associated Contents, I do not log in to other sites for the sake of earnings. I try to cut down my own expenses to meet the rising cost of living. Here in India also, in ther recent past, cost of living has gone very higher and we are finding it difficult to meet both the ends. I also believe, money saved is money earned. So I try to save something, if possible.

I have been doing any and every thing. I have been doing mylot, writing on my blog, sewing, ebay, and more. I just took some stuff to a local consignment shop. I am getting some of my name brand clothing ready to take to Plato's closet. I am just anything I can to try and make more money. Our bills have been so high and I try to help my husband as much as I can. I cannot work out of the home right now , we have a toddler and my husband is a truck driver and is gone about 3 weeks out of each month.

OMG that is a massive increase, people won't be able to use their cars much. Have to find alternative transport that is cheaper. It is getting frightning, that is why I am starting to look into alternative sources of income to survive. I hope fuel prices drop down, and not go up again. Take care.

I do the mylot thing in addition to running my own business. I started the business to make extra money and be able to stay home and take care of my daughter. I make dog beds and have just started making cute collars too. I really love what I do. I sell mostly through a website and occassionaly set-up at local craft shows. It's doing pretty well and we've been able to save everything I am making.

It is getting harder to make ends meet you are right. We are pretty lucky in that we do not have a full mortgage, no credit cards, loans or any debt too big. The only debt apart from the mortgage that we have is a catalogue but that is going to be paid off in another couple of months. We are lucky in that the wage my hubby brings in is roughly the equivalent to two wages, hence why I can stay at home with the kids, so we are pretty lucky. I earn money through here and that is it at the minute, I find that this place takes up a lot of my time!

That is really good geminim that you don't have much debt, that is my problem I have way too much of it. About a year ago I wracked up a bit when I wasn't working, had to get loans and credit cards to survive. Now I am struggling. But I know things will be better next year when I return to work, just trying to spend year at home with bubs, didn't do that with my middle child, went back to work after 4 months and I regretted it. So this time I am trying to stay at home as long as I can, that is why I am trying to think of extra ways to earn income. Mylot does take up alot of time, I have not been here much at all past few days. I have needed a little break. It is amazing how much more productive I have been around the house, lol.

Here in the Uk it is the same, everything has gone up in price and the thing that amazed me was the thing that had seemed to have the biggest price hike was rice..basmati rice..its dairy and bread that has soared here inparticular. But the general cost of living is going up day by day,im sure everyone must be feeling the pinch.

Yes it is a hard pinch too that we are all feeling. I wonder why rice has gone up so much. Bread has not gone up too much here. It's the fuel mainly and interest rates of houses, I am glad I don't have a mortgage, I am just renting at the moment.

Well I have tried making money online it does pay but takes so long to actually get the money, I really haven't found any site that pays decently. I made a sacrifice something I didn't want to do but I started doing daycare again that is the only way I find I can make a decent living and still be home with my kids.

AT home daycare is a good option i think when you have kids to make extra money. I was also thinking about doing that this year till I go back to work next year. I agree it does take a long time to get paid on alot of online sites. I have made quite alot on bux.to now, but it takes a couple of months to get paid, they are speeding up though, can't wait to get paid out there. Neobux does pay instantly though.

I think global crisis now is getting worst. Yes prices of every commodities have been rising. May be it is okey if the salaries were varry to the high prices occured, but its not. What we will do now is finding another way in getting extra income to feed our family. For me i have my small business in supplying sand and gravel to my nearby community. I will only used my car in a very important business to go to, but i rather commute ride a passenger bus to go to my everyday's job. In this i can save a little in my gas. Strategy is very important now a days. But inspite to global crisis, i still believe that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He really loves us.

I just signed up to keyforcash.com where you make money for typing. I'm a pretty slow typer so I don't make that much, but if you are fast you might be able to make a decent amount. One thing though, it takes most people about 3 weeks or even more to be excepted, for some reason though I got an email welcoming me right away so maybe you'll be lucky too. I just started with mylot today so hopefully I'lll make a little bit here too- otherwise I'm trying different work at home sites to see whats there. I really want to be able to stay at home for a few more months with my baby so I hope I'll find something soon! Good Luck.
