What kind of dog do you have and why?

Mine is a mutt but a beautiful and loving one. I wanted a big dog, with a nice solid bark, not a yap and a loving temperament who was protective of me and mine. She is half dalmation, quarter black lab and quarter mastiff. She looks like a black lab with white markings and a broad chest. She has a deep voice and is really strong. She is definitely an alpha dog with other dogs, not aggressive but lets visiting dogs know she is boss in her own home with any of them.

I have an English springer spaniel dog. I spent ages (and i'm talking months here) researching online to find the perfect dog for me. I researched size, strength, temperament, exercise needs, ailments, everything to make the absolute right decision. Eventually I decided on a Norfolk Terrier. My dad agreed that this was okay and we decided to go to the Dog's Trust in Darlington the following week to see if they had any. The day before we were going to the Dog's Trust, a girl who worked in the pub with my brother told my dad that she needed rid of her Springer and wondered if I wanted to go round to her house to take a look at him. My dad agreed, knowing that it wasn't the kind of dog i'd fixed my sights on. Of course, once he told me about it I just had to go, I couldn't say no to a dog in need. He's been mine every since. It'll be three years on the 23rd of this month. He's my beautiful baby boy and I love him to pieces, even though he's the complete opposite of the breed I wanted! He's been through everything with me, he's even helped me through my agoraphobia. I couldn't imagine life without him.

My dog is part jack russell, part beagle. He's loud, hyper active and allergic to meat, and I won't lie, I don't really like him. I have him because my family wanted to adopt a dog, but it needed to be good with kids and other animals, and small-ish. My mom had a friend that knew of this dog so my family went to check him out and decided to bring him home.

I actually have 2 dogs now. One is a 12-year old Black Lab/Chow mix that we've had since he was 5 weeks old. We lived in a duplex at the time and the next door neighbor's dog had puppies. They had them outside in the driveway at about 4 weeks. I saw this cute little black cottonball with eyes and just fell in love with him. And now, for Mother's Day and my husband's birthday, we received a min pin/terrier puppy from my mother-in-law. My husband has always wanted a miniature pinscher and when his mother found one that was being mistreated, she convinced the people to give him up so he could have a home where someone would truly care for him. He's too cute!

I have a beautiful pomchi he is so handsome and lovable. Recently I inherited two other dogs for a while a pitbull and a jack russell they belong to my brother who is going through a very bad divorce and temporarily had to move into an apartment where there are no dogs allowed. The dogs were staying with my sis in law till she threw them out now I have them and they are the sweetest dogs ever I am going to hate giving them back.

We have two dogs. Our three year old female is a vizsla mix. Our six month old male is a german shephard mix. We didn't go looking for a specific breed but these are the two dogs we saw at the shelters and knew were perfect for our family.

We have a Carin Terrier. It's the same type that was Toto in the Wizard of Oz. My mom picked it because she had a terrier-mutt that had been a great dog, really smart, good-natured, and would stay home without being tied up or fenced. The new dog has been great, everyone loves him, especially the other neighborhood dogs.

Rusty - My Golden Retriever pup.
We have a golden retriever because that is what my husband wanted. Personally I would have preferred a Maltese or Shih Tzu but then it would be a house dog and I don't think my cats would have appreciated that. Rusty is about 75 pounds now and very active at 1 and a half years old. He can knock you down just running at you to play. He is a good dog, but quite a handful.

We got a chitzu. We wanted this type of dog because they are small, we have a small yard and a small house. They are also supposed to be good with children and we got this dog as a present for my sister. we named him sniffles.

I have 4 dogs.. two that stay inside, my older girls, Greta a german wired hair pointer, and Snickers a chow mix, both are 10+. Then I have the youngsters, Bailee my Saint Bernard, and Topper my Shepard mix. They mostly stay outside since they are still a bit on the youthful and wild side. 3 are pound puppies and 1 the Saint I bought. geri

I have two fabulous mutts. One is a greyhound/shepherd mix and the other is a Irish wolfhound/Golden. The greyhound/shep mix I got from the pound when I was really depressed and needed something to help get me out of bed everyday. 4 years later I'm doing great and she's just as goofy as ever. Throwing the ball for her and watching her just be a goof can make the worst day better. The wolfhound/golden mix I got from the pound this past winter. I just fell in love with her giant shaggy face. She is such a dork! She's very clumsy and think she's a lap dog, but she weighs over 70lbs!

I have two silky, look good for me. They are more active than the famous Tzi Shu here, and cheaper than another famous dog which is Maltese. And of course, small size is the main condition.
