Is anyone else looking forward to 'The Stolen Earth' tonight as much as me?

I mean, come on. If you're a fan of the show, this has to be the ultimate fanwanky two-parter. ALL the Companions for the past four years. Daleks. DAVROS!

Words cannot describe how excited I am aout tonights episode! I mean seriously. To see Sarah Jane and her son and the Torchwood team in one episode with the Doctor... I am really curious how they are going to play that and if they will be fair when it comes to screen time. I think I also saw Mickey in the previews and that makes me even more excited :) Yeah, yeah, I know. But I really have a soft spot for him. And for Ianto. So they better think twice before hurting any of them. Though, what surprises me is the fact that I'm very 'meh' about Rose... I liked her on the show but right now I'd rather writers concentrate on Martha and the awesomess that is Donna. Donna really rocked this season and I can't wait to see what role will she play here. Because after the previous episodes I know she will have a role to play. OMG Doctor Who! heh

Yep, Mickey's in it, looking at the publicity still. I'll post the pic in a second if it's possible (still new to this), but it can be seen at http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/s4/images/S4_12 . Jackie, too! I really enjoyed Season Two of Torchwood, and looking forward to Seeing Ianto. He was such a cipher in the first series, but they developed the character so well... Rose has a really bad week last week. Sounded like she had a bag of marbles in her mouth. Apparently she's back on form this week, though.

I'm actually in Cardiff in South Wales where they film most of the program & Torchwood, & a few months back they filmed right outside my mothers flat. They needed an extra power supply to this huge crane with lights that was shining down the street & they ran an extension cable into my mums shed lol

I used to work with a guy who did the odd bit part; he's in a couple of episodes of Life on Mars, for one. He turned down a bit part in Voyage of the Damned. Turned it down! Mostly because we were a long way from Cardiff for three days work, but partly because to fit the feel of the episode, he'd have had to cut his hair short ;) Personally, I'd have gnawed my own arm off to get a nonspeaking part.

I was hinting to them for a non speaking part the night they filmed here, cos they were filming lots of people simply running down the street. I'm sure I could have managed that lol

I can't wait either! Thanks for reminding me so I can go find it on my torrent site. It looked like Torchwood and Sarah Jane showed up too from last week's preview. I usually hate two-parters, but just am so excited to see this one. I hope it isn't a let down. Sometimes after looking forward to something for so long, it can't live up to expectation. I just want it to be brilliant.

It turns out it's a 3 parter, it continues again next week. But it was a great episode tonight

Have to say, having now seen it, it was pretty special. I do think it's interesting though that the classic series was criticised in it's later years for relying too much on it's past. I reckon the current series has done that more than ever! Nick

I loved it to bits, though I've avoided watching it again for now, as I suspect the writer in me would pick it to bits, and I'd like it less. There's bits I'd have liked to be done that weren't. Example: The towing of Earth back by the TARDIS: I'd have had it materialise AROUND the Earth, and have the Doc open a broom cupboard somewhere to show it, hanging in a vast, roundel-covered room. Just to belabour the point of how big the ship is, AND to give the people at the Mill something to do other than Dalek shots ;) And yeah, the old series did get a bit self-referential in the eighties. I never see this as a downside, mind. That was MY era, when I was growing up, and I loved it to bits. I certainly love when they do a little nod to the past nowadays.
