Hey don't laugh at me, I still have my fun. Every since I was 7 years young I been playing in water because I couldn't figure out the swimming part goes, but don't knock me, I can do some things, like squat under water and hold my breath while pinching my nose. Sounds easy huh? It is you should try it sometimes. You might get a real thrill from it. I only stay in the 4-5 feet, I wouldn't want to drown. That wouldn't be kool.

Yes it is a fun sport, I love to play in the water like a big kid. What a great hobby! I think I got it down-pack.

Don't worry you're not the only one. I do not know how to swim too and I had been laughed at by my ex who was a very good swimmer. No fun, isn't it?

I would never laugh at someone for not being able to swim. At least you can still enjoy the water! Actually, my mom was asking a few times when we were out in the pool why I could swim but she can't seem to keep afloat. I said I think it's just something you can do or can't do. It's like a lot of other things in life, you are born with the ability to learn, or you aren't--and in that case no matter how many times you try, or lessons you take, you probably aren't going to be able to do it that well. I think I kinda just picked it up myself, I never took lessons or anything, when I was a kid I remember holding onto the side of the pool and kicking my feet, like when you swim. That is one way to practice swimming movements without taking the risk of drowning. But like I said, I think it is great that you like the water even though you can't swim! A lot of times I will dance around in the water or just walk around the pool, then other times I swim. And I usually stay in the shallow end as well, unless I am swimming laps, because I am only 5-foot, if I walked to far deep I'd be under water. But my pool at home isn't that deep, it's deep enough, but not so bad that I have to worry about going under, unless I want to. I have found that I can even put my knee on the pool floor and still my head is above water.

I'm not knocking you. I also cannot swim. Some of my friends like to tease me because of it, but it doesn't really bother me. I figure at the age that I am now, it's no big deal and I will probably never learn how (people have tried to teach me... ;) )

I'm not knocking you for not knowing how to swim but you should real look into learning. I think you would really enjoy, especially if you like the water. I didn't think I would learn how to swim when I was younger but I never gave up and I learned. I'm sure you can too. There's got to be someone in your family that knows how and is willing to teach you. So ask around. Good luck and continue to enjoy the water.

Haha, this is when the infamous dogpaddle stroke comes into play. Trust me, the swimming is the best part of the water! You don't know what you're missing.
